If HP is around 500 will it need to be braced to keep body from twisting?? Which trans to use...etc...thks for any help..

I would want subframe connectors welded to the floor at some point.

Us car tool. Mopar specialist for torque boxes, subframe connectors etc. I did my own withstuff from around work, but if i had the chance to do it over, i would use U.S. car tool!

I bought 2" square tube at a local steel supply and made two sets from one 20" stick. I cut some floor out of the rear seat foot space-just enough to make the top of the tube stick up through the floor so as not to make a lump under the carpet.

I'm just couple hours from UScartool thought I would ride up and see what all they have. It might be a chance for some observation and advice....might learn something.

Does a convertible have frame rails from the factory? (I used to know this)
No rails from frt back to rear...just floor pans but most cars that were converts were reinforced in the rocker panels. ...don't know if this car is. I figured with upping the engine it would need reinforcement . I'm lucky this car is no rust in the floors or boxes....unbelievable but solid.

If your starting from scratch. Going with a hydraulic clutch looks easiest. If you are just running a street tire with no traction it will probably do ok without connecting the rails. If your going to launch it with something sticky..subframe connectors for sure. Watch the torque rating when your tranny shop so it will handled it. 500 hp small block vs 500hp BB is a a lot different in ft lb.
