I have 1975 Charger with a 400 - the vin shows engine code p instead of n like the last one I had - p is supposedly a high performance engine from what I can tell researching vin decoders - does anyone know in what way this "p" engine is higher performance?

I had a 76 Cordoba with a p engine code It had a 4 barrel thermoquad carb dual exhaust 3.21 9 1/4 rear bigger sway bars and egr delete . It should have a sticker o the door that says non catalyst a air pump and a high mount p/s pump the air pump went under the p/s pump electronic ignition and a orange dual snorkel air cleaner .

it does have dual exhaust (which I thought was something the owner changed - never knew that it could have been factory) and orange dual snorkel breather - I’ll check on the rest later - thank you very much !

I used to know what the difference was.

P was actually the more common.

Might be California or something like that?

I had a 73 charger that was p code and a 76 Cordoba that was a p code I bought from the original owner still had the resonators on the exhaust. Thats what I remember about the Cordoba at the time I've owned 6 Cordobas and this was the only like this the owner bought it to tow his boat with .
