Hello,

I have a factory (or factory style) tach in my 69. Also have a harness for it.

Question is, which terminal is from the coil and which one is power?

The source of my confusion stems from seeing posts/photos online of both ways being correct.

For example, I see this photo-

And this one-

Here is mine-

Any idea which way is correct? Maybe this is a difference between original and reproduction? Not sure but don't want to fry it so any suggestions are appreciated :)

The tall post is 12v power....The short post is for the coil wire.....the ground is the housing to dash frame...

+12V comes from the fuse box? My tach was wired like this (aftermarket).

The tach wiring harness includes a grommet for the firewall. Where exactly is this hole positioned? My car came with no tach.

68 Coronet RT with tach from factory. Your's would be the same. There will be a dimple in the firewall

that serves as your drill starting point. Just as in the photo, there should be a quick disconnect just after the tach wire comes through the firewall.
