Spot on! These overpriced coffee table pieces will never be worth much as they'll never be 'correct' on any car. They are what they are. Don't buy hype! I sent an inquiry email with an offer and got an expected response. Along with battling cancer for 3rd time, the owner has rolled down his shirtsleeves showing all his embroidered patches stating that he is an internationally recognized author and 100% disabled veteran. Like all egotistical 'artists', this guy believes his 'celebrity' adds value. Of course, I disagree and sent him a reply.
I think I'll go do something more productive in the garage.

The Strange: The whole thing is strange!
You know these adds don't stay up forever...
1961-63 413/426 Max wedge engine/parts.
Collected over the years from original Mopar engineers and designers.
All parts are original and not reproduction. I acquired all of them from Crysler, Plymouth and/or Dodge employees that I had interviewed for articles while writing for Mopar Action and Mopar Muscle magazines almost 20 years ago.
There seemed to be a policy at one point at the engine testing lab, if it hit the trash it was up for grabs. And many engineers working on their own projects at home grabbed what they could.
Here is a collection of strange parts up for sale.
This will probably be the ONLY time ever that a Max Wedge engine that has not only never been in a car but some parts never finished is available to the public. As well that an experimental Max Wedge block and parts are available to finish someones restoration.
1. -10 over clean "AAQA" max wedge engine block. The strange: it is dated 1964, as it was part of the "new" race program that had come after the Max Wedge program. This new program used "wedge" blocks and parts to test some of the new parts and heads. So this was a late cast to be a mule in the new race program.
2. Max wedge heads. The strange: instead of being designed for use with gaskets this matching pair have brass o-rings around each cylinder set into the head for quick change. Supposedly being tested for NASCAR use.
3. Max wedge "bathtub" intake aluminum. The strange: never finished, never tapped for linkage, prototype with the earliest production date of it casting type made. Historically significant as well as beyond perfect for a restoration as the holes that could and usually are messed up have not even been bore out yet. Can you say "fresh"...
4. Maxie Carbs The strange: one used on mule, the other - never used, never stamped and with blank tag, couldn't be any newer.
5. Maxie exhaust. The strange: NOS
6. Maxie A/FX and NASCAR aluminum water pump. The strange: early race part never raced.
7. Maxie A/FX and NASCAR aluminum thermostat housing. The strange: rarer than the water pump as they degrade, used on mule.
8. Maxie A/FX distributer. The strange: race part not raced.
9. Maxie 4 blade fan, pulley. The strange: used on mule only.
10. Maxie valve covers. The strange: used only on mule. These were repainted and cleaned up for display.
11. Maxie prototype A/FX air cleaners. The strange: early builds where they were trying to figure out the best mesh and foam for use.
12. a few other parts
If you, like I, wondered why NOS parts hit the dumpster, I can tell you what they told me. Many parts were cast for what ever program they were testing at any given time. However when the program changed or no longer needed these said parts they just threw them away as they were taking up space need for the new program's parts.
Now don't you wish you had a time machine to stand next to that dumpster on any given day?
Taking offers for the lot as a whole if I can, don't really want to part it out, but will if the right offer comes across for a certain piece or pieces.
Will include some signed prints of some of my published articles with each purchase.

The best part he's to ignorant to realize it's not even a real max wedge block & I'm betting it's a 413 industrial or truck block by the upside T cast on the side
