Old engines that are getting popular

Again......looks like early hemis and olds motors? Is this the new trend?
I used a 403 for my 67 Olds. With the right work and parts, it runs very strong and is still an olds motor. I still have the 330 on a stand, I may do something with it, stock output in 67 was 1hp/ci with a forged crank.

the biggest issue I saw with the olds 403 was the heads....the intake ports in the stock heads are half the size of the gasket hole or the ports in the intake were half size as the head ports.....something like that . its been a while since I've laid hands on one.

you drill out 71-73 350 heads for the larger head bolt size. a few other mods too, but this is a mopar site. lol

To me, the only "old" Olds engine is the 303-394.

I had two 354 hemi's at one time. I planned to put one in a 30s style traditional hot rod truck.
Sat on them for 10 years and decided I was not going to build the truck as I was focused on the 67 dart.

Sold all the hemi stuff and now kicking myself.
They are becoming too common in hot rods anyways.
About 2 years ago I dragged home a 1930 ford model a coupe. Found a buick 401 nailhead and mating it to a a833. This will be a traditional style hot rod. Trying to keep everything pre 60s. Wide white wall tires and spoke rims are the plan. Model a body sitting on 32 chassis.

Love the 401 nailhead. 445 Ft/lbs of torque stock. They were real monsters in the day. And something you don't see a lot of.
