Im rebuilding a car that someone else took completely apart.

Does the rear shocks get mounted inside the c-channel or between the gas tank and the channel? Is there a special stud for the upper mount or will a standard grade 8 bolt suffice?
Any spacers if mounted inside the channel? Theres quite a bit of slop between the shock body and the inside of the c-channel.

Ive got a FSM and it doesn't show shock orientation.

Inside the C channel or "shock mount crossmember" is typical B body. There may be a torque spec for shock bolts in the FSM.
You can always use hardened washers if theres to much play, but you shouldnt have to.
I would recommend getting grade 8 bolts, with grade 8 nuts and grade 8 washers under the bolt head and under the nut.
Good luck and give us a picture of your runner. Ive always had a soft spot for that year runner :)

I've got a '74 Charger- I'll snap a pic of the assembly if you like? Not sure how molested mine is/was prior to it coming into my possession but if it helps? Give me a day or two
