Found in Mich. supposedly fourth owner. 95000 miles and # match but not able yet to find core and trans #. Lots of goo and somebody got happy with undercoat. Runs good shifts good 30 by 30 body but smells like a musty barn.
Turning 70 not sure about complete rebuild but don’t want it to rust away around me. May 69 build date
Suggestions welcomed
Thanks Ernie

Hey Ernie, it doesn’t look too rotten to me? (But maybe I’m not seeing the full picture).
If it has rust it won’t really rust anymore unless exposed to water (Rain and humid storage). Maybe spend some bucks on a new carpet, deep interior cleaning to get rid of the musty smell and just enjoy it ?

Nice car btw

Sounds exactly like mine except I had about 8000 fewer miles and new paint job.

smells like a musty barn.
Same as mine. New carpets solved that problem.

Just judging from the pics, I'd say a pressure wash and a little TLC would have her looking good.

That's a great color combo!! I would drive it as is.

Those pan holes can be repaired easily. The musty smell is in the carpet so I would replace it. Any cowl rot letting water in behind the dash?

Drive it until the wheels fall off.....replace wheels and continue.

Drive it love it.....live it up!

Jeff

congrats have fun driving it & enjoy it

Turning 70? I'm 73. Detail it, replace carpet, maybe headliner (bad about holding odors...…..now drive the piss out of it!:steering::thumbsup:

Thanks feel like it is a good candidate for a total redo. From what you all say fix the crossmember and inner fender, carpet, headliner to help with odor. Never thought a barn find would smell so much like a barn. lol

Throw an ozone generator inside the car for a day or so and then drive that puppy!

Looks like a nice ride to me. Is there a build sheet hiding in there somewhere?

Thats one of the best parts of being an old fart...
When we were young and drove these, got stop for horsing around,, we were young punks causing trouble...
But NOW......
We are respectable older adults and just "taking a shot of our youth",, when pulled over....
Most of the time,, it is "ok,, just be careful and remember the speed limit"... Uh huh,, I willl... :) :)
