Ok here's my question and what I have

1.pulling 318 out of 75 fury has a 727 with a 3500 stall converter will be putting in 360 stroked to 408.

2. Can I use the flex plate and the 318 converter because I've seen that the 360 is externally balanced and the 318 is neutrally balanced

3 the kit I'm getting for the stroker is cast crank some input would help to make this right

The new kit is most certainly already balanced or includes everything you need. I would just check with them to be sure.

I'm a little confused. I will make some assumptions. The Fury has a 318 and a 727 at the moment. You have a 360 based 408 stroker you are putting in the Fury. You are reusing the 727 currently in the Fury. You have a 3500 stall converter and the original factory 318 converter. You want to use the 318 converter. Is all of this correct? All 360s from the factory were externally balanced. For a stock 360 to use a neutral balanced converter (such as the 318 converter), it would require you to use a special balanced flexplate such as this B&M. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-10236/overview/make/plymouth . Another alternative is to use the stock flex plate and have the proper weights welded to the converter. Mopar Performance made a kit for this at one time. I bet most of the cast crank based 408s are externally balanced . Yours may or may not be. You will need to talk to the builder.

I have a tci 3500 torque converter in it I want to reuse the tci in the 360 stroker.

The kit I'm getting is the Mancini racing kit
But I'm lost as to get a different torque converter or flex plate cause obviously it's not going to be stalk,but if 360s are externaly balanced and 318 is neutral balanced with my new set up what am I going to have to do

You need to know if your 408 stroker is internally or externally balanced.

From Mancinis website;

Our Stoker Kits come non-balanced but we also have balancing options available.

Looks like you need to give them a call for sure. This has been quite informative, and I for one am glad you asked the question!!

Not sure If you are having your engine balanced but having one internally balance can cost about 300 bucks adding Mallory metal is expensive. Really depends on the rotating assembly weight. But internal is really your best option because your 318 converter will go right on.
If you were running a externally balanced 408 the best option it to use the weighted flex plate and still run the 318 converter. I think a 408 can be done internally or externally. A good shop will have no problem w either.

Lefty, curious, and dipstick are all dead on right! You need more info on what you have. Then you can figure out what you need.

Call Mancini. Just because the engine is externally balanced doesnt mean the amount of imbalance is the same as stock. If it is the same per Mancini you can weld weights to the converter to mimic the factory 360 balance. Or purchase a B&M flex plate for a 360. If the imbalance is different, it will need to be balanced. Assuming the imbalance is close to stock. The assy could be balanced using the stock weight damper and B&M flex plate attached to the crank during the balancing process. No need to internally balance unless the crank is close to neutral balance to start with, which is highly unlikely with a cast crank.
