I just got this distributor in a trade today. I honestly know nothing about it other than it was pulled during a rebuild and the owner went in a different direction. The only ignitions I have ever used were the old, no longer available, MP conversion kits. All of my cars are street driven. I might occasionally take one to the track in the future but nothing dedicated to the strip. Is this distributor any good for my purposes? There is no vacuum advance canister so I'm assuming it's a mechanical curve only. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have never been a fan of anything Mallory since I had boat with a Mallory distributer in it. It gave me trouble all the time. so that's my opinion

I run one on my hemi I've had it for 15 years with no problems. Mine came with a project I purchased. Only thing I heard was to add a suppression module in line so voltage transients don't take it out. I added that to mine.

I had one for about 25 years before changing when I went to EFI.
It worked good, but I was just using it to trigger a MSD6AL box, so the module was not under load from the coil.
I think if running a coil directly, you need to check the coils/ballast resistance to not overload the electronic module inside.

From the web site, "Requires a 1.4 ohms Ballast resistor, Loom resistor or internally resisted coil."
