I am looking to purchase a FireCore vacuum advance electronic distributor for my 440 (+.030 484/284 cam). This is a performance distributor for stock 440's with electronic ignition.

I am finally back to work on my car and was trying to get input on this distributor. I have read several posts and as with anything there are some positive and negative things i have read. I was wondering what people who have this distributor think and what people recommend. I run a base timing of 12 degrees and heard this distributor come with between 24-26 degrees total advance which would put me where i want to be between 36-38 total. Plus the added adjustability.

I am looking for something I will get long life out of and good steady performance.

thanks in advance.

OH forgot what is the best place to get one? right now looking at Mancini Racing

I have used several Firecore distributors and have never had a problem with them, knock on wood. Easy to adjust the curve and the advance. I always get mine from Mancini.

I installed one on my GTX years ago when my mp unit was getting sloppy, very happy with it and got it from mancini gust down the road front me.
