Tires, cannot find these, what do you all use?

Anyone have there Coopers white letters turn brown ?

Clean them

Turn brown again very shortly after

Tires are less then three years old , bought thru Discount Tire Direct

Local Fleet Farm installed and also sells the Cooper brand

Run Coopers on three of my daily drivers

Never had Coopers but my BFG letters turned brown quickly. (Just the back tires). I clean them with lacquer thinner and a couple weeks later they’re brown again. Even when the car doesn’t leave the garage. It will probably keep me from buying them again. I was hoping Coopers didn’t have that problem.

Obviously these aren’t made anymore but I always loved the look of the Goodyear solid raised white letter as a classic tire, I know I could get BFG’s, but what else are you guys using that has an old school look?
Since these are dated 1995, I’m getting worried on taking x-way trips and would like to keep these, but get a “trip set” mounted up also.
Input appreciated

I have Coopers on my 442, no issues. I have Hancooks on my 68 Charger. Never got to drive on them, but they also have 14 and 15 inch offerings. My 68 is now on 17" with Toyo Extensa tires. I hope the drive it this spring, we'll see.

My BFG's RWL and the current Good Year Eagle GTII's RWL I have both brown over time also.

Dear Coker...

I had a set of Coopers A/T (not cobras) on my F-350 4x4 dually
they didn't last 25k, I bought them mainly because they were cheaper
the BFG's lasted like almost 40k+, weren't that much more,
maybe $25 a tire more, at our local little tire joint
I won't buy another set of Coopers
I never tried the Cobra's

I now use Wild Country RVT from Less Swabb
great mileage & wear on my 99 Dakota 4x4 32x12
have over 40k on them still about 1/2 the thread showing
but showing signs of wear faster now
I drive on mountain roads up here
very little open straight hwy/freeway driving
we don't have a freeway for 100 mile from here
I'm very satisfied with them

We finally have a Less Swabb up here now, so I'll be buying tires there
they have always treated me great & I don't have to go to the valley
to get a good tire selection or have them shipped in now

I pretty much used BFG Radial TA's on most all my streetcars
had very good luck with them
(had a few 4x4's with BFG A/T or M/S 33 x 12.5 too, great life/milage)

I have 245/60/15 front on 15x7 & 295/50/15 on 15x9 rear currently
handles well & does well on dry to damp pavement,
it's not a drag tire, not a great rain tire either, not with 600+hp
but they hook OK, in the dry for what they are
but pretty good for all around driving/not bad in handling either
might be a bit stiffer sidewalls
they're not a soft compound traction style tire, but they do well
I have no complaints
been Using them for 40+ years now, even if they are a bit more $$$
than the others

Good Years I've tried or came on my rigs (on cars & trucks/4x4's) are pricey
I haven't had very good longevity/wear out of the Good Years
they are a softer tire for damn sure
I do like Good Year racing tires & slicks
M/T's for traction on a Street/strip deal, with very little cornering

I use Soft Scrub on the tooth brush twice each year and they stay white all summer.....

64BEL. I see that you’re still enjoying my old car
Yes Eric - very much! I've thought about bringing it over to your show one of these years if my work schedule cooperates. A little bit of a haul, but we drive it down to Milwaukee for Mopar shows every year, so West Salem isn't out of the question. I hope you're well. :moparsmiley:
