I have a 1967 Dodge CSS pickup, that has a chance to be featured in a magazine. The motor in the truck is a 383. During the restoration I changed the ignition over to the Mopar Performance one with orange box. The magazine wants the motor to appear as stock as possible, one of the items they want changed are the spark plug wires. They want them to look stock, color was black. I looked at the MR88 date coded plug wires from Year One, but they say they are for ignition ignitions only. I called the tech department to see if the "points type ignition only" was because of the boots or the wire not being able to handle the electronic ignition power. There response was "we don't know". I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on stock appearing plug wires that will work with the electronic ignition, or if anyone has used these with electronic ignition.

Firecore products are the best I have ever used and should fit your needs!! Call Rick.

IMO...
The Mopar orange box and reluctor distributor was designed to replace the points type distributor. All the orange box does is switch the coil's primary current. The coil generates the high voltage distributed to the plugs.
Since you are trying to maintain correct appearance, I believe the black insulated date coded wires will work just fine. Yes....I have a colleague who uses the Mopar ignition system and repro dated coded wires on his 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst hardtop with the 375 HP 440 WITHOUT any difficulties whatsoever.

If they're shielded carbon core suppressor wires and have the right resistance they will work fine with the electronic ignition. Solid core wire emits RF that can cause grief for some electronic ignitions....been my experience.
