Well, tomorrow January 10, I am retiring after 45 years with the same company. I am excited to start a new chapter in my life, but I will miss the great people I've worked with for so long.
I'm going to drive the Charger to work on my last day! The weather should be nice, with temps around 65.

Congratulations Bob! Enjoy your retirement.

Made it to the finish line, Congratulations sir! Enjoy more time in that Charger! 440'

Congratulations. Mine is on the horizon, in sight, and I’m scared shitless. Think I’ll take the train as usual on the last day.

Congratulations on your retirement! 45 years with the same company? That’s a pretty good run. Enjoy your new life.

Congratulations for 45 years, that is awesome in today's world! The newest chapter in life is just about to start, enjoy !

Have a great retirement, just don't sit down, keep something going. This hobby will keep you alive, thinking, and having fun. God Bless

I can't even think of the happiness you will feel driving that far to your last day!

Hopefully you have done plans for retirement? My dad's been retired for 9 yrs, and hasn't worked on any projects, don't know really what he does...

Congrats ! I am not to far behind you and looking forward myself.
That is a very nice Charger and I like the drive it in on the last day.
enjoy !

Congrats on a well deserved victory, you made it and now for your last day you get to do a victory lap in one sweet ride!! I'd say that a great way to start the next chapter of your life!! Enjoy it!!

Congratulations. Mine is on the horizon, in sight, and I’m scared shitless.

Dennis, you have hobbies and things to keep you busy, right?
I'm closing in on what could be my retirement if I want. I have hobbies and interests that get pushed aside when I'm working long hours or on jobs with long commutes.
I am looking forward to retiring but doing some random side jobs at my own leisure.
Good luck, Bob. You've had a long run!

Congrats, Bob. That sort of thing is to be respected and honored!
Is the company doing anything for you on your last day?
Hopefully you have done plans for retirement? My dad's been retired for 9 yrs, and hasn't worked on any projects, don't know really what he does...
My dad retired early, took the early out when offered. When his health went to ****, literally overnight, was
when he stopped doing anything that resembled work, though.
Biggest piece of advice he ever gave me was never to stop. Slow down, sure, take it easier, ok - but I still
remember the look on his face when he said it: "Don't....you....ever.....stop."
He was going through chemo when he said it to me and he reiterated such things when my own health went
sideways, always a version of "keep plugging away" or "get up soon as you can" when I was in hospital again.
See...
He knew a man truly has to have purpose in life. It's in our DNA.... once that usefulness, that drive, is gone,
other things can sneak in and sometimes that ain't good. Idle hands, all that jazz I suppose...

I don't reckon I'll ever have to worry about retirement or "stopping". With my medical bills, I'll be working
two years after they've put me in the ground. :)
