Neil Peart will not be down...

RIP. The heart beat of Rush . Awesome drummer.

Yup. Saw them decades ago for the 2112 tour. Mind blowing live band at the top of their game. Many bands are are fortunate to have one virtuoso player, Rush had three.
Bowie, Lemmy, Neil and many others gone too soon, yet Kenye West lives on.

R.I.P.

Rest In Peace Neil. Can’t be many Canadiens left in Canada. They mostly live in Santa Monica or Burbank. Or Florida.

I don't usually comment on threads of this nature. But damn I loved to watch and listen to him bang them bongos. R.I.P. maestro

Brain cancer-

Ewwww

Holds credentials to be the best drummer of all time.

No more back bacon and Tim Hortons.

Saw them in 2004 and 2012 (100 years too early).

'04 tour KICKED ***!

His wife died of cancer IIRC and then he rode around the world on a motorcycle!

I just heard! Wow! May he Rest In Peace!

Arguably one of the best drummers ever!

Wow. Great drummer (wrote most of their lyrics too).
One of a kind...

I was just watching one of his videos that my wife got for me for Christmas. One of the most respected and talented percussionists of our time. RIP Neil...thanks for the great music.

Dam that sucks,he was I think the best drummer out there.

I am off to see one of my favorites bands with one of my best childhood friends at the fairgrounds arena in Oklahoma City.
It was the Motor City Madman at the helm, and we had some crappy seats right of stage behind the Nuge's massive speaker stacks.
My friend wanted to check out the drummer for the opening band then move down to the floor after uncle Ted came out. (The stage right seats worked out well for that.)
While the opening band members were walking up to the stage (and within earshot of us), I asked my friend, "Is that all of them?"
They (the band) looked at me like I was crazy!
Needless to say, the three of them were more than enough to blow my 14-year-old mind.
The name of that opening act was Rush, and the drummer was Neil Peart.
R.I.P. Professor, you will be missed.
