Brain cancer at the age of 67. So very sad.

His daughter was killed in a car accident. He took a hiatus to sort things out.His wife died of cancer IIRC and then he rode around the world on a motorcycle!
I was there, too.January 14, 1977
I am off to see one of my favorites bands with one of my best childhood friends at the fairgrounds arena in Oklahoma City.
It was the Motor City Madman at the helm, and we had some crappy seats right of stage behind the Nuge's massive speaker stacks.
My friend wanted to check out the drummer for the opening band then move down to the floor after uncle Ted came out. (The stage right seats worked out well for that.)
While the band members were walking up to the stage (and an earshot away from us), I asked my friend, "Is that all of them?"
They looked at me like I was crazy!
Needless to say, the three of them were more than enough to blow my 14-year-old mind.
The name of that opening act was Rush, and the drummer was Neil Peart.
RIP professor, you will be missed.
