I have a big block distributor with p/n 3656678 on the tag. How can I identify it?

I haven't looked in years but, Motors Manuals used to list distributor specs by part number.

Shoot me a message with exactly what you need I have all the books on them.

Thank you for the reply. I have a 1972 Road Runner GTX which means it is a 440 car. The car is also a 4 speed. The original engine is long gone and the guy I bought the car from included distributor 3656678. He was collecting what he thought to be correct parts for this car. I don’t want to sink time and money into this distributor unless it correct for my car.

I don't find that number in either of my books. You may need to look at the number closer.

The tags are embossed. Take a picture of the back side of the tag and I can invert it. The number may be more clear then. It could possibly be a replacement distributor from back in the day that doesn't show up in the part number books.

The number is clear...the blue anodize is really nice. I suspect a replacement might be answer.

That number sequence falls in line with other 1972 distributors.

Sounds like you have the best access to info. I’ll snoop around for a ‘347.
