What did you do to your Mopar today?

Today it got up to 60* outside. Backed her out to do some cleaning and reorganizing on that side of the shop.

I let it run for about 20 minutes. Then about dark I pulled it back in. Had a heavy downpour last night but I still don't trust all the salt on the roads that's been used lately.

Anyway my shop smells like burnt high test! :thankyou:

That's what I was going to say....well your car :)

Just pulling Eric's chain... whom I followed from Atlanta to Alexander City. Him in his Daytona, me with the Bird and our chase teams! Well until I had to pull over and fix a rocker cover leak..

Jeff, what kind of symptoms was it having that made you take off the pan to start with?

Good luck with the fixing!

It blew out the spring retainer on the rear servo.....
Only going about 10mph about 150 feet from my house when the rear wheels locked up!

Jeff

It’s got a reddish hue to it.
Hard to see in the pics. It matched the unbleached out area under a mounting tab fairly well.
The hardboard material definitely takes the dye differently than the vinyl does, though.
All in all, I’m satisfied with the result.
Maroon? Looks way brown to me. Is it just the photo and it's really a reddish color?

I only ask because I need to paint a few things on the Express later on and that's a real close match to what I need. Any way you could take a closer up pic or two in the sun? Please?

Sure, give me a bit of time and I’ll get some.
I’ll PM them to you

Hooked up parking brake got it all adjusted. First apply good release but not enough return to open light switch so adj. some more. Reapply and release good letting car down noticed chunks of rust on floor. Where cable goes through crossmember metal came off. So as per old car rule fix something break something.

Looking at my low speed swish swish noise last couple of days. Well measured to see if a backing plate was bent, all but one on driver's side were within 1/16" one measurement was 1/16" closer to drum than the others. Put a 12" straight edge on axle flange and measured every 45*. Axle side play is ok but might tighten it up a hair. No ah ha moment. Used a 1" square super magnet to hold straight edge. Well putting magnet on it got away from me and pinched some skin between magnet and straight edge. It was like being bitten by a black fly, they take a piece of flesh with them. Just another bleeding cut, but a new way to do it.:D

Tried out tire and rim fitment. And mount measurements to undo P.O.'s hacking. Passenger side needs to cut and move back to where it was driver side forward and over 1/4". Rear tire has 1/4" of space between tire and leaf springs. 17x7 rim 245 45 17 tire

Mounted brake shoes. Picture of how i measured to see if backing plate was bent, Ok as stated in earlier post. Square block is that vicious magnet that drew blood.:D:rolleyes:

I started replacing the window sweeps and window channel on the passenger door of the '55 Plymouth. I got as far as getting the interior trim off and the vent window assembly out when I decided I was tired of being cold. So, it can wait 'til another day (or week, or month).

Another early morning Mopar drive.

Left home around 4:30 am, got back around 6:30.

101 West out toward Malibu (passing everyone), exit Westlake Village to get on the 23 road through the hills.
Very winding in some parts and very dark, people do live out here though.
Hit PCH and went to Kanan back up to the 101, exiting to Ventura Blvd. managing to get home on the street (almost a straight shot @ 45-50 mph) before people are up.

Car handled everything well. Twists & turns on the 23 I was literally going around hairpin turns/corners, slowly but the car did well. Suspension and steering held up without issue.

That’s the route Kobe should have taken with Uber!

Confirmed measurement for the Firm Feel order. 1 1/8.

Mocked up the fuel tank so I could get final measurements for the PTFE flex lines and fittings
