GM Engineers Busted Racing Company Corvettes!

Think the local Cops would give em a break.

The only 26 mph over the speed limit might have been the break. Going any faster probably would have incurred more penalties.

That’s their bread and butter. Write the boys for 26 over then.

Kentucky laws must be similar to Wisconsin in that respect. Here, if you are caught speeding at plus 100 mph, your car is impounded and you go to jail just like they did. I don't know the significance of the 26 mph but it may be that the cops didn't clock them on radar but realized they were way over the limit.

It is probably something along the same lines as New York’s, theft and grand theft law. Theft is theft. Below 10K. Grand theft is anything over 10K. So, 10,000.01 is that same as 10,000,000.

In Oklahoma when I was 16 I raced a custom van in my Dad's Dodge dually on the way home about 2 or 3 AM. We had been partying with the folks in the van until it was time to go home and were travelling the same way. So, we both floored it and I got pulled over. I never heard if the van got away but there was only one cop chasing us. This was back in the 70s and then the law required police to revoke the license and put the offenders in jail for reckless driving. But my Mom and Dad drove up on their way home from a night on the town and talked the officer into releasing me into his custody forgoing jail and license revocation. I think I paid over $100 for speeding over 40 and running a red light.

Me going to jail would have been a lesser punishment!!
