One more 69 road runner build

This is where things get tricky Jed moved on to the valve body where there are several modifications needed.
This does require very close attention to detail, as there are many fluid circuits, check balls, and orifices that need modified. The instructions provided cover these details very well. This kit was also provided to us from Cope Racing Transmissions. According to the instructions I’m going to spill my coffee

Time to button things up
Jed installed the valve body filter extension and filter with a new deep steel pan and molded gasket.
The filter extension will allow the filter to remain deep in the pan where the fluid is less areation. The extra capacity will also offer some additional cooling.

I want to thank Jed very much for all of his help with this build.
When it comes to Mopar transmissions Jed‘s racing transmissions is the only way to go.
Also I do highly recommend CRT Cope Racing Transmissions for product and technical support.

Here are a few pictures as I completed the process. I disassembled everything and soaked it in the
Evapo-rust. The final finish is glass beaded and clearcoated.

Also similar process on the E brake.
Soak everything in Evapo-rust. Cleaned the switch all the hardware repainted brake release
I still need to purchase a new pedal pad and this will be complete.
For 50-year-old plus parts the E brake and brake pedal assembly look pretty good with some elbow grease and a little detail

Did some work on the horn
It still works but sounds a little bit sick like the coyote might’ve taken a bite
May have to replace it with an aftermarket one but for now I have a semi restored Spartan.
I got the correct color from Totally Auto.

This car is almost rust free however as with most there are a couple areas that need replaced. Dutchman and passenger rear foot well have been removed. I have AMD replacements ordered.

Great project. Nice to see rust free examples are still out there.

I love the breakdown of the trans rebuild as I really enjoy working on them.
