Just a personal note.
My father used to sell Plymouths back in the day. When I was 15 years old he brought home a 'demonstrator' (for you younger people, dealerships used to give their salesmen cars to drive and called them 'demonstrators'). One car he brought home was a '67 HEMI GTX. It was Medium Copper Poly and it was gorgeous. It was then I fell in love with MOPARS. 40 years ago I found a '66 Belvedere 2dr HT sitting beside a garage in Sarasota FL. I purchased it from a very nice older lady who was the original owner. 37,000 miles on it. And from that time on it has sat in my garage waiting to be brought back to life. Rusted in the usual places, even for a Florida car, and in need of some mechanical repairs. I had always planned to fix and drive it but life got in the way. Putting kids through school and such. A couple years ago I decide it was finally time, before it was too late. That's when I discovered FBBO. It's common knowledge that car people are great. But MOPAR people are special. All the things the MOPAR faithful have to endure, lack of aftermarket products, higher prices for what is out there, and in many cases no speed parts for the POLY, hell, AMD won't even stamp out the greatly needed '66/'67 quarters. But still, you MOPAR lovers trudge forward, helping others when you can, and providing moral support when you can't.
I have a close friend who lives Chevrolet - he built a beautiful '55 HT - and he's continually after me to abandon MOPAR and get into something 'less expensive' to build and maintain. What's the old saying, 'if I have to explain it you wouldn't understand.'
I am proud to be part of the MOPAR community, not so much because of the cars, but because of the people. I have received so much help and encouragement from those of you here on FBBO. You've taken my calls, posted much needed input and information and directed me to the important places and people I need to finish this car. You are truly special people... MOPAR people. And I thank you.

I couldn't have said it better. This is a great place, good people and sooo much knowledge from folks that have been doing this for years.

Outstanding! Glad you are getting the help you need here and yes...best site on the web for B bodies and Mopar in general

I have good buds who are Chevy and Ford fans, been that way since we were high school. We take our cars to several shows each year. I'm a fan of all the old big 3 muscle cars but Mopar is my #1. I got a lot of help restoing my '63 Plymouth from friends on this forum and wish I would have joined sooner as it would have saved me a lot of head scratching and bumbling around searching for parts, etc. Good luck restoing your's. Time's a wasting!

Hang tough man, anyone can put catalog Chevy cars together! As you stated it takes a special breed to put Mopars together, and it is getting better for us Mopar people. We have websites like FBBO to help each other get our cars done, When I first started building Mopars there was nothing available aftermarket for them, and Chrysler had just gone through the bankruptcy, and had scrapped a lot of the NOS parts, so there was very little available from them either. The aftermarket has finally started supporting Mopars, and has come a long way, buf it still has a long way to go. I have heard that AMD has the 66/67 rear quarter panels in the works, so they may be available soon. AMD has made it possible to save many Mopars that would have been scrapped for parts,so they are one of the vendors who have really stepped up for us,even though they sell 10 times as many GM and Ford parts as they do Mopar parts. Keep the faith my fellow Mopar brother, you have come to the right place!

Have owned Ford and GM products in years past but there was always at least one Mopar product in the fray. And yup, the GM guys are the ones that always ragged on me for having Mopars. One day I told a long time buddy that's GM only that never shut up about GM to grow up and shut up cause I was sick of hearing his grade school crap about how Chevy is so much better and how Mopars suck. This was while he's riding in my 95 Dakota that's all original while his Duraslack pickup is falling apart and yup, reminded him of that lol. Told him the doors still work too if he wanted to exit now. So far so good on him keeping his pie hole shut :D And I agree that the Mopar community is great. Yeah, there's a few not so nice apples but they don't spoil the bunch.....

Nicely said! Also very true IMO. Looking forward to the pics when you get that car on the road.:drinks:

WOW Cranky, Are you sure that your buddy isn't my brother -in-law ? He is always telling me(A Chevy guy and won't ever shut up) how crappy Mopars are and everything that's wrong.Mean while My sister bought a new 2000 Dakota that he drives more than her, it has over 100,000 miles on it and he has only put 3 batteries,2 sets of tires and changed the 4 spark plugs once in the last 20 years. (And complained all the while). Yep Mopars are no good.

Great site, great people. A very giving community that welcomes all into the fold. Helped me in countless ways when I was restoring my GTX. Would have taken me years longer had I not found this site.

Yup great people here who are very giving and share the passion. A great group of folks I call friends.

The Mopar community has always been an accepting group. I Love my A bodies and have recently took great interest in the B bodies. I just built a nice 440 HP spec motor for my cousin. We plan on putting it in his 66 Coronet 500 this spring. It my present to him for helping restore my 65 Formula S Barracuda. Need I say more! 440'

When people that own cars manufactured from "the others", I always remind them of certain historical events.....Nascar has never put rules in place to limit Ford or Chevy from running a certain engine in Nascar because of dominance....all top fuel and funny cars run an engine based off of a Mopar engine...and a Mopar has several records tied to the new Demon....Mic drop!!! Enough said....I rest my case...Oh...and there is always this...

Fords 427 SOHC 'cammer' was banned from Nascar too, after their 427 high-riser engines were also banned after one year of use.

Also, back in 1957 Oldmobile came out with their J-2 engine option to run against the Chrysler 300s, but half way through the season Nascar banned multiple carbs and so killed that plan.

BTW, you should remind your Chevy friend that many parts are expensive regardless the maker. For example, exhaust, brakes, paint, interior, etc.
