....with Submit. It was a good move with some pretty intense moments, but not as action packed as I thought it would be. Dunkirk & Midway had more action, but this was still a very good movie. The filmography was very good. We both give it 3 thumbs up.

I've seen Dunkirk, but didn't see the new Midway movie. Going to try and see 1917 this weekend or next week-ish. I'm not expecting an action movie so I'm just going to enjoy the experience.

Took my youngest son to it a couple of nights ago. He is really into the war history stuff. We both thought it was a good movie.

Wife and I saw it this afternoon also and enjoyed it

Not a bunch of gratuitous/unwarranted shooting found in many action movies

I'll just wait till they come out on Blue Ray and add them to my personal collection...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I haven't seen it yet
thanks RC good to know
probably wait till it comes to cable

a friend of mine saw it & said it was a lot like
the Mel Gibson movie from the early 80's 'Gallipoli' (pretty good flick)
pretty much same story line, with few differences & WWI
he said it was a remake
I didn't see it (1917) so I wouldn't know

Watched it on Kodi last night.

I give it an 'eh it wasn't bad.'
I imagine if I paid to see it I'd give it an 'I didn't hate it.'

Yes, cinematography was excellent.
I wish I didn't know how it was filmed beforehand.

I'm a big history fan, so the scenery and details were awesome, but I wasn't on the edge of my seat, or really invested in the plight of the characters. And what no tanks? Except the brief view of one.
The first 45 mins were promising.
Have been waiting for a great WW1 movie.

My wife and I saw it last weekend. Good movie overall. Not one I'd call great. Couple things I thought a bit hard to believe, like the shoot out at the river between the main character and the unseen German sniper.
