I will be going with Jamie at Passion for a complete kit to convert over to a four speed.
What if any problems did anyone who did the conversion have.
Was laying out were to cut for the new sheet metal a issue
I would think its reasonably straight forward but you never know.
Thanks

I did one in 67 gtx went hydraulic slave and m/c much nicer than old tech pushrod hook up unless your a purest, McLeod dual friction readily available

Good thing about hydraulic clutch set up is more clearance with this

If you,re going to use a needle style pilot bearing vs the OEM bushing the part of the shaft that rides in the needles may need to be dressed with Emory cloth if it hasn't been machine close enough to the splines.
This is personal preference: I love the way a diaphragm pressure plate feels vs the original Borge & Beck

Steve, you goin with the 18 spline or the 23?.

23... Its a 383 the rebuilder figured 350 HP, 355 gears. Thing is this conversion is a big expenditure and if I started the job next week, I should be done by March. Im not really working that much so I have the time. The garage is very tight but well lite and warm.
Part of the enjoyment is doing as much as I can by myself, thats the purpose so farming out the installation, while it would be nice, kind of defeats the purpose and the money saved is considerable.

You're bored out of your mind, aren't you my friend? No matter what the number at the end of your age reads, you need to work. God bless you, Steve.

The hydraulics can be purchased fairly in expensively at local joe auto or rock A parts one piece of steel brake line 24” and I’ll send you a pic of the one I produced tomorrow if interested, can be made relatively early ! And works flawlessly

Thanks Big Guy, you made me laugh. Yes I must be a little bored, things are slow now but may pickup come spring. I could use a good trailer box rebuild, maybe a goose neck on a low boy or a nice excavator bucket job right about now... Something to keep me busy for a week LOL!!!!

The metal work is pretty straight forward. The tunnel fits the floor in one spot, just trace around it and cut about an inch in from that and the pivot welded to the frame is easy to position also. It's been awhile since I did a B-body but the E-body I just did had a notch in the frame it fit to.

Steve, have you considered trying to buy used parts? Should be tons of this stuff up in the N/E. I was just thinking the last time I looked the cost was $3999.00. WOW

I did but not being to knowledgeable about Mopars I thought buying everything in one shot was easier, maybe not cheaper though.

Don't forget to index bellhousing . Probably in directions, doesn't take long. If have to change dowel pins can be a pain.

If you call Brewers, they will give you a quote for absolutely everything needed for the conversion. Right down to new carpet to fit the hump.
