It will. There are old plastic pins that were melted over to hold it on. The pins got brittle and broke. I cut the pins flush, drilled holes in each one and ran a tap down them for #4 screws. Cleaned and lubed it up then put the back plate back on with #4 screws.

Thank you very much. Now, do you take the switch out by itself or do you have to take out the whole assembly, and is there an easy way to do it?

Thanks Billccm. I am going to try to repair mine first.

This was a few years ago but I THINK I got the switch out without removing the entire assembly. I see there has been some custom wiring on the blower switch too.... There are just 2 screws that hold it in from the bottom. There is an electrical connector and vacuum connector on the back of the cover that popped off.

Thanks. Yes, it looks like someone has been in there before. I take it that you recommend screwing the back on any replacement switch.
Do you remember how to disconnect the slider controls from the switch?

The are like a ball and socket and they just snap on. A bit nerve wracking but I did not break them on the Coronet or the Duster.

OER does make a reproduction these days. I don't know the quality of them.

I'll fix it. I'm not going to risk breaking another one. I think the switch is still good. I just couldn't activate the controls because the back separated. It's a wonder those switches last as long as they do without coming apart considering every time you push a slider in it's putting pressure on the back of the switch.

I do recall that I rolled the switch to 90 degrees and they all just rolled out of the sockets all at the same time.

I'll give it a shot. How about the vacuum connection? It looks like there's a clip that goes over the housing.

Yes there is a clip that just snaps on. The nipples can be brittle as well so be careful.

Lied, took the entire thing out....

I appreciate your help. I'd rather try to fix the original than buy new.
