Asking you guys. I know “its worth what someone’s willing to pay for it”. I looked at a rough 69rr 4 spd, all b5(car,top,interior). Can’t confirm numbers, but tag and vin present, didnt pok around to build shert. Tag shows b5 blue, 4 spd, am/fm radio, long. Stripe, interior dress up. Basically thats it. Ream rm27. Basically parked as a day 2, but the barn floor is wet, and it prob needs everything. At least both rear rails and torsion bar crossmember. Thanks in advance.

Do you have any pictures. Its pretty hard to access a value without.

Is it a Hard Top?

Too soon.... still dealing with that nutsack tho. 60 days hopefully it will be over and done with. Lets not bog this thread down. Ill update the other one when its all over

I didn’t take any pics, but its 100% complete. Not considering the rusted out torsion bar x member. It needs a full resto, new metal. But its a factory 4 speed b5 blue rr convertible. One of ? Not many. My inspection only showed the bottom rusty, from the damp floor. But im thinking patch panels on the sheet, framerails and floorpan.

I'm gonna stab a guess at 12.5k
seen them go for more but
the rust holds it back

There was a similar one that was on Buffalo CL.
Asking price was 21K.
It went away quick.

I was thinking around 10K, given the amount of rust. My emotions got the better of me and I offered 15. I think he declined as I have not heard back. But at 15, it may be a stretch as it easily needs 20-30K in metal and paint. the 20 may not touch it nowadays. Every bodyman in town has almost doubled in price in the past 5 years. Wanted to bounce it off ya'll to see if I was in the ballpark.

You see decent projects go for 17 to low 20's
With the rust issues
You go backwards
So IMO below 15 is the range

Sound to me that you should let it go & search for something that doesn't need everything. Keep in mind that once you figure out what your restoration costs will be on a particular vehicle, you should add 40% to that cost.

find another better one

4 sp ragtop is def worth fixing but if it needs rails and all the rest, I would not be over 10k.
Make sure it has the correct shifter and conv. parts etc.
