Sometimes, this is a problem with the dryer itself. If it's an electric unit, there can be two dryer elements, normally used for different heat settings. If the clothes are taking forever (and the vent is clearly not an issue), then maybe it burned up one element so it always runs on "low" setting regardless of where you have the controls set. Gas units can have similar issues with staging as well, although not nearly as common. HTH, Lefty71
I think it has more to do with being at 5K feet then the dryer itself. You ever read about or do any cooking at high altitudes, and the problems you'll have?

No, but i've read about athletes training in high altitudes to affect their blood oxygen levels. As long as you've inspected the system for safe operation, and aren't having any overheating issues, i'd say your ok. And probably right. Sorry - i just saw that your post said Lefty.
