I have a 440 with 440 source heads. will the pertronixs rtr distrib. have clearance and fit?
thanks,

The heads will make no difference at all. The issue will be the valve covers. If it fit before w whatever valve covers you are using, it will fit now. If it has the stock, points size cap, it will fit w any valve covers. If the cap is the large size such as an HEI cap, it will not fit w tall aluminum valve covers and is very close w stock stamped steel valve covers.

I bought a new NAPA dist and put the IGNITOR III in it no problems at all looks stock ...

The Ignitor III is in the Pertronix billet aluminum distributor I put in our 421 Tripower in the 65 GTO. Only saying that because that is a great ignition setup.

I'm thinking about doing a Pertronix for my 440, one of a few different ignition systems I may go to in the future, so...
:popcorn2:
My FBO setup works great and the distributor itself looks exactly like the factory stock Chrysler electronic ignition distributor, and the control box (multiple spark, rev limiter, HIGH output) uses the factory wiring harness!

I have the Pertronix III with Stealth heads and Mopar rocker covers on the 440. It's tight but it fits.
Prior to the Stealths I had a pair of 915's and had to grind down the flashing on the corner of the head to get the Pertronix to drop in.

thanks for all the help. bruce

I'm going to have either TrickFlow 240s or 270s on my stroker motor. I just officially got on "the list" with the understanding that I won't be ready until late May early June, for a new aluminum World block.
I want the ignition system to do the best job possible, with flexibility in adjustment, but not so complex that I can't dial it in.
It MUST have a top notch rev limiter function, as not all limiters function in the same way.
The point is some distributors are hard to fit w/the TF heads.
