Adam - 12 cars

They are running the whole Adam 12 series on the Me TV channel on our local cable network, so my wife has been recording them, and we have been watching them. I feel like I am a kid again watching them! We have been watching Mannix too!

I watch it occasionally on METV here too

I recall an AMC Madador also.

From the article...

Comment from Season four, episode five when Malloy (alone in patrol car) drives off the road in Griffith Park and crashes:

"I remember watching this episode when it originally aired. They used a 1971 Plymouth Satellite then as it went off the road it was a 1969 Plymouth Belvedere (my favorite car from the series). As it ended on the bottom of the hill, it became a 1970 Mercury Montego."

crash at minute 4:20

if you pay attention to the show
they will be driving around in a belvedere
and when they go to a interior of car shot
while they are driving
the inside shot will be a matador
I've caught it in a few episodes
also it seems they only drive around the same block
over and over as the same background cars
appear many times...
also a red 71 charger RT appears in the rear view
as they were driving in one show..

Sounds like they had a very small patrol area. Lol

it might be weird but
when ever I watch a show or movie from the 60's or 70's these days
I'm mostly focused on the background Cars and what details I can spy
in the shots.
so if they are driving around, I'm paying attention to what they are passing by
when normally you would never notice that stuff.

I watch the old , CHIPS episodes mainly for that reason.

When they show them sitting in the car driving from the front, you can see that the windshield is missing except for the outer edges. You can see the reflection of a shade in those small edges. Talked about here:

after seeing that pic
that's funny
now its obvious what is going on
they just tow that belvedere around the same block in circles!! LMAO
thinking back, when I spied that 71 rt
going behind them it looked like it was barely rolling at 10 mph in the shot
makes perfect sense now..

I wonder if Mac always had to drive the wagon towing them?

Always liked the show.
Watching them now when I'm able. Don't know if I have seen every episode.
I have always considered it a more realistic cop show.
As others have said I also enjoy the cars and the period.
Remember it was made on a TV show budget !

I have a Mannix question (also on ME TV),What is the car Mannix drives in the first season ? it looks like a Toronado Convertible.
