What car show do ya hate the most? One VS the other compare......

Gearz is good, Stacey David loves what he does, but one or two new shows then six months of re running reruns.

Stacey has adopted Gene Simmons helmet hairdo and it's just not a good look on either.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:…..anyway, I like Fastest Cars In The Dirty South and GYC, none of the rest.

I refuse to watch whatever that show is with Gas Monkey Garage...Rawlings is a knob.
I can only stand Richard Rawlings for about half a beer then I'm done.
Any guy that wears bedazzled blue jeans and talks out his *** is ..well… you know.

I've watched that show a couple of times....but after awhile all the beep tones get on my nerves. When my youngest daughter was young and asleep in her bedroom, if I watched any show with a lot of beeps, it would wake her up even when the volume was fairly low. She's like me in being a light sleeper. They use those damn beeps because it's cheaper than editing out the cuss words.

No one mentioned Garage Squad....kinda like what they do. I liked Heather Storm over Christy Lee. The whole group is pretty good as to what they do in someone's garage....thoughts?

I like that too. Just too bad they can't finish all the jobs they take on.

Don't watch most of them, the only part of gyc I'll take in is when they have a car on the frame jig and show what's going on. Roadkill is fun but that monkey garba'ge is just that, pretending not to foresee problems with a modern hemi swap into a classic Mopar. Oh, we had no idea the exhaust would be a challenge, like they started building cars the day before. I spend more time here reading and actually learning something.

Fantomworks guy is an arrogant ********. The workmanship out of that shop is ****, he's local to me And I've seen a few "finished" products. He's an ex- navy helo pilot. Also know a handful of guys that used to work for him and after not very long walked away. He has one very good metal worker, Kyle Yokum, he left a long time ago to do his own thing. I believe he still teaches metal fab classes too.

I don't know Dan but I do know that he was a Green Beret prior to going to flight school and the guys I talked to who served with him said he was always a bit high strung but a solid operator. So I will give him that.

As far as the show and his shop, I think he does try but he isn't any different than any other repair shop in the country. I would like to believe that his drama is created for the camera (much like GYC but on a somewhat less nauseating level); Dan's "shtick" seems to be his "unwavering commitment to quality" and his outrage at about everything. He is portrayed at the "expert" (although he doesn't say that unlike GYC, but it is clear that they promote him as the final word on everything and all things).

I can fully see that working for him would suck, very demanding and condescending

I try to catch the mopar ones, even a few of the '50s cars. Some criticize them for not doing more than they do. They aren't a nut and bolt resto show. Mainly get a car/truck up and running and back on the road.

Tie between Counting cars (20 minutes of BS and 5 about the restoration) and Autobiography dooshbags

Oh yeah Autobiography... almost forgot about that (wish I could); could they find anyone less qualified to talk about cars in a more nauseating manner? Both of them got their lunch money taken on a daily basis to be sure and the tall one still needs a daily *** whooping.

What do you mean they can't finish?
If you have a DVR you can pause it and look things over pretty closely. On one mid 60's Dodge, the new headliner was in but most of the trim wasn't installed and that's just one of the many I've seen when the car was presented to the family and the crowd. Sometimes the fit/finish isn't too good either but I'm not complaining as they got the mechanicals done and the owner was now on the road.

Some of these shows are trying to be entertaining or keep a comical note to outdo each other likely on a tiny budget if that aside from the cameras. Then some are more into custom overkill that some people like. Include old vs new school. I'm not a fan of radically customized old rides and wild paint jobs while others are. It was sad to see a super pristine restored 50's pickup on a show recently all hacked up and re-done to a wild custom at the owner's request with a big wallet. Wheeler Dealer's mechanic guy is interesting to watch depending on what his main wacko guy brings to him to resto, as he prefers to do more stock rejuvenation and modern upgrades for better handling, power, etc. you know some resto-modding but not over the top. Yeah, depends on what lights your fire.

Gotcha and I have noticed that as well, many of the interiors are not finished because I suspect they either didn't have time or could not find all the parts within the time allotted. But as you say, at least they are giving someone a running/driving vehicle they can then build upon as they use it. I do like that show and I am sure the recipients are very happy. That show to me represents what a group of friends could do in a relatively short amount of time thrashing on someone's rig.

I cannot believe you have not mentioned my Tio's show south of the border!
MEXICANICOS

I wish you could understand him. He is a mess just like his cars. He was just arrested driving a stolen vehicle. Was on Discovery for a hot minute and then pulled to Latin Discovery.

You can add closed captions and translate to English.

Spend too much time trying to read the closed captioning and miss most of the show lol

some of the worst couldn't or can't hardly watch

Desert Car Kings (lipstick on pigs)
Pimp My Ride & West Coast Customs
5th Gear
Fantom Works
American Chopper
Autobiography (aren't they both NYC :gay:)
Grand Tour (a knock off of Top Gear UK, same people, but that sucked ***)

Marginal but I can watch, but not my favorites

GYC's (if Mark would shut the hell up & act normal it'd be way better)
Fast & Loud (Richard is a bit much, it's better without Aaron IMO)
Wheeler Dealers (sorry IMO the brit **** is over done, better now than with Ed)
Counting Cars (Danny & the 70's throwback goth/vampire **** is a bit much)
Top Gear UK (it took a long time for me to get use to the Brits humor)
Top Gear America (there will be a new batch of presenters now, a few of them
were OK, Tanner was a total show off, Rutledge is too much, the dude from NY was a douche
I did find it entertaining at times
)
Chasing Classic Cars (Wayne is a hoity toidy & stuck up, I really liked his old Mechanic Roger)
Motor week (Ford lovers, GM lovers & saki sippen Jap rice rocket & foreign car advocates)
Monster Garage (Entertaining at times, I knew a couple people that did the show,
Jessie James is a bit much to take, it was all done in fun, not supposed to be accurate
or real deal cars
)
American Hot Rod (fucken drama queens, but some cool build of Rods)

Call me weird but I like/liked

Overhaulin' (Chip is out there sometimes but a great guy, honorable man,
so I cut him a lot of slack, I liked the show, many of the builds, no matter the time frame BS
)
Jay Leno's Garage (one of my favorites)
Americana (Ray Everingham did a decent job, some cool old cars & history)
Street Outlaws (some of the scripted BS & calling themselves "street" guys is a joke,
but I like the show, I watch regularly
)
Street outlaws NOLA (the constant bickering got old fast)
Street Outlaws Memphis (JJ Da' Boss, too much good ol' boy stuff, ah shucks guys
acting like broke fucks, that surely aren't & have some very fast cars that aren't cheap **** either,
as they'd like you to think
)
Street Outlaws No Prep Kings (other than 405 Chuck being an arrogant asshole,
or the calling out ducks or broken cars in the 1st round BS, I like the racing, so far away
from the "we be street" BS they attempted to portray, on the reg. series
)
Gearz (Stacey is a real car guy, his style isn't mine, but I like his show, just not enough of them)
Iron Reserection (not big on the Caddy's & Lincolns but like the builds for the most part,
sort of a-typical LS in everything seemingly, Joe's one hall of a airbrush/artist & the painter
& mechanics all cracks me up
)

can't stand

not sure the actual name
there was a show with a bunch of 'young guns',
in Washington State IIRC, that'd buy & fix/flip old cars
rust-buckets it was unwatchable really, lipstick on a pig
on a regular basis

there's a quite a few more,
I just can't remember the names of & don't care to either
because they were so bad I maybe watched 1 episode

-----------------------------------------------------------

that's my list 27 (?) in total
& my opinions/thoughts, on most/many
take it or leave it, it's my views, not yours
that's what was asked for :blah:
