So far I have the radio both defroster hoses and the top of the glove box out but can't figure out how to get the bottom half out. And besides the three bolts on the out side of the fire wall, what else needs removed? I'm replacing a noisy blower motor so which heater core would you recommend? I see them in brass and aluminum.

Should be one brace in front to the cowl. It mounts to the box just above the heater resistor. No other fasteners. It slips over the passenger vent flange. You will need to tilt to get the firewall studs to clear and then pull down at the cowl vent.

It's been a minute,i could be wrong, but i think theres a heavy guage metal strap ( radio ground strap?) That has to come out. As well as the control cable attachments, and the blower motor lead. I bought a crappy aluminum heater core, and had to bend the inlet & outlet tubes to line up with the holes correctly.

To clarify no other fasteners than the three firewall nuts you removed and the strap I mentioned.

Also the cables that Aarons Air mentions

While i had mine out, i used an air gun & blew through both lower vents, and the cowl slots. I had all kinds of crud come out.

Contact Bob at Glenn Ray radiator and have the original recored. The chineseium cores don't fit well.

Suggestion for the heater. I took one out took it a part. Then spent hours making gaskets, to make good seals. Found out later that Detroitmuscletechnologies made a kit. This time I will order the kit.
NEW i made a mesh dome to fit above the vent flappers, small enough to keep the mice out just in case.

In my '63 Plymouth I had rebuilt the heater control valve and reinstalled only to not be able to stop leakage so I've had the core bypassed for years now; but would like to reconnect it. I'll look up Detriotmuscletech about the kit 440 4 speed mentions...
