Best thing I, we have done for ourselves

We had a good hunting season this year so in Nov. I started eating nothing but fresh veggies and venison, (occasion pheasant or squirrel). Lost 40 pounds and feel great! Also hike 4-5 miles 2-3 times a week.
But the best thing I’ve done for myself was quit smoking about 5 years ago.
Not looking to live forever, just want to enjoy life while I’m here.

There is still fish, chicken and other lean meats like bison, goat and elk.
You are correct. Though i did say, without, meat.
The body can break down proteins into a form of sugar. Your nody can burn it. Though its not a desirable situation.

When counting calories & choosing food, keep in mind, a gram of fat has 9 calories. While a gram of protein or carbs has 4.

Still eat to much pasta. Giving up peanuts and popcorn has been the worst. Have had the same untouched 6 pack in the frig since August even tough I can have one occasionally I have been told. Now if I had to give up beans the doctor and I would be having some serious words.

Heavy (very) teens, twenty's to later thirties 200 to 235 lbs.. Its been all uphill from there.

Fran the vid i posted here earlier really works! And its easy. I've lost a lot with it. You don't even have to exercise, and you will STILL get results.

Congrats Auggie. Once past 40 it seems like losing weight is twice as hard as it was when we were young.
My wife has struggled with her weight for years, two years ago she had leg surgery that didn't heal properly and she gained even more weight. After Carlisle last year , having to stop for a break every 20 minutes she had enough. Since last July she has lost 45 lbs and plans on another 25.
As you said it's about eating healthly, cutting out the crap food and more exercise. She has cut out sugar and gave up her favorite soda-Coke but still eats her favorite foods-just in smaller portions. She started walking every day after Carlisle. At first a half mile was a struggle. Now she walks over ten miles a day on the weekends.
When you can see and feel the tangible results- that's the big reward.
