541 street strip motor, TF 270 heads, Weiand P3690982 cross ram or???

Holes by center carb are not in the Chrysler Performance bulletin, and like all of the areas where material was removed just looks rushed and half-assed:View attachment 898085
The area behind the one outboard carb hole is rushed looking too, and not enough material left of the original hole by the carb surface:

These are the "dams" LMAO!

And the bulletin calls for ALL intake ports to be "radiused 5/16" and BLENDED into the plenum floor. Lol! They were ground so deep I was concerned that the port may have a paper thin amount of material left where the sharp, deep angle cuts are:

Well I got pictures of the other Weiand intake, and I am happy to say it looks great, and I told him to send it.
While it is NOT in unmodified condition, the only mods I see are the intake runners blended and radiused to the plenum floor, and that looks like it was done with great care and precision, vs with a chain saw...
Here's the pix I received of the replacement intake, and I'll take more when I receive it. I'm pretty happy now!

Any reason you aren't going with the Viking DA on the rear?
They are really nice units, the adjustment is exactly what a high HP stick car needs.
I went with Warrior model on the front, Crusader on the rear.
Still in the process of getting mine set up with the Assassin bars, but, so far the results are impressive on unprepped surface.
So far, on the rear, I am at a number 4 rebound and 14 compression. I spose a well thought out single adjustable might end up close to what you can get the DAs to do, going with the old adage of "buy the best shocks you can afford" seems to be playing out well for my heap though.

Thank you for the inquiry into the Viking double adjustable shocks on the rear.
I have some calls/emails to make, and then I'm still going to wait to shoot some videos, post them in a new thread, and wait for feedback.
My inclination is to use DA Vikings, because I won't lack adjustment, BUT they have to be able to be adjusted into the required amount of rebound and compression to get the job done, and some have posted that other rear shocks like the Calvert 9 way single adjustable units are more conducive to achieving that.
I'm out of money for now, and with all that is about to be done and installed, I am stretching the budget to get the Assassin bars, springs, and sliders.

Cut here for air cleaner clearance...

Lol....
I'll know soon enough if the guy who posted twice that "the N96 airbox has to be trimmed but the Weiand will fit under the hood" is right or wrong.
After taking some measurements, if that looks good, I'll eventually install the intake w/out carbs, check clearance, and proceed from there. In the meantime, I have added some needed parts to my inventory of N96 stuff, like the rubber seal and complete hardware package, vacuum storage canister (actually sold as an A/C duct actuation part, but is identical to the hard to find N96 can and was $90 brand new! ) and I have an A12 6bbl base, rubber hood seal, and fiberglass air cleaner top, which I probably will use my metal top instead, but it was a package deal. So if the guy was wrong about the airbox and hood clearance, I may have a hybrid Air Grabber setup...who knows? I will soon enough....

Hey @vintage chromoly , I see you "liked" that comment...
If I need the SawsAll, I'll give you a call.
You think if I use masking tape around the edges of the cut that will protect my satin black hood stripe?
Hey, y'all may be correct, and in that case, I am going to have to find a solution to be able to have a functioning Air Grabber and the Weiand intake, or the intake is going to have to go.
That would be a damn shame though, because THIS is what the Weiand looks like polished! (obviously I wouldn't use those spacers)

I’ll send you a pack of blades Bio.
You have to video the procedure and post it here. :bananadance:

  All good buddy. Just send the coarse wood cutting blades, because I don't have the time to go slow like those dang metal fine tooth blades would demand...:drinks:

Something along these lines should do the trick:

DUDE! GET OUTTA MY HEAD! That's EXACTLY what I was picturing, but with tiger stripes in place of the checkerboard!
:poke: :bananadance::lol:
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot... lol. That would be hideous on one of these cars.
It's a running joke Hemirunner...vintage chromoly "saved" my car from a triangulated 4 link rear suspension surgical episode, and I have adopted him as my "aesthetics committee" ever since.

Yeah I’m aware that he wasn’t being serious. It’s hard to take any of this seriously

Well, I am taking some of it seriously!
Although I got a good deal on the Weiand, I still spent a good chunk on it. I've communicated with a number of people who are using it and have been for 10+ years, and I have read so many posts on it that my eyes look like Marty Feldman...

Given that my choices of intake manifolds came down to the Edelbrock/Chrysler 6bbl I have now, the Indy ModMan intake, and the Weiand, I'm pretty excited about the potential of the Weiand.
Anyway, posting and discussing this and other things keeps me motivated, helps me and others learn, and I AM making progress.

Well the Weiand came in today, and this one is beautiful! I'll just post some pix and check back in once I get some measurements or actually install it.
I'm VERY happy with this one!
