I'm trying to see if they ever made a piston for my application or if I need something custom or modified.
. 30 over
1.094 floating rod
Forged
At least 10:1

Those are the rods I have to use, I'm in southwestern Ontario so the used market isn't as large.

You will need to use an aftermarket piston (KB, Icon, Ross, Venolia, etc..) because those rods are floaters. OEM replacement pistons will not include the locks or grooves. What piston you decide to use will depend on what you are using it for, and how much $$$ your willing to separate from...

I was wondering if an old TRW would have them at all or could be cut for them. I've looked at all the manufacturers and none of them carry a piston that would work for me they only sell low compression flat tops. Whats the average cost for a custom set I figured a $1000U.S

Check with Ross, Venolia, JE... There are plenty of places to get custom pistons from. You should spend less than $1000, but definitely north of $500. Why do you have to have forged pistons? Do you need them due to what you want to do, or is it for ego reasons? You can find a piston, but just make it fit your application.

Here are Sealed Power forged flat top pistons for under $400.

More than just the piston derives the compression ration. You take the available piston, deck the block, Cometic gasket (0.027" min), closed chamber heads, or aftermarket heads. You can get where you want to be easily by making the parts work for you. According to my Sealed Power piston book, these pistons will result in a 9.77:1 CR with 78.5cc heads, 0.012" deck ht, and usually are spec'ed with a 0.042" gasket.

I was looking for 10-11:1 forged for nitrous
Those sealed power are okay but they're only press fit piston I was going for 440 source stealth heads and wanted a dome to get the right compression I assumed.

L 2293f, .030 or .060 only. 1.915 compression height, 765-770 gr, piston only weight, plus 252gr pin. Full floaters.1.094 . 22.2 cc dome on the .030, 21.3 on the .060. I think these are solid dome, they are sure heavy enough , so you could adjust compression by milling the dome. I don't know comp ratio, it's not in my book, but you could calculate and get close .
Now GOOD LUCK! finding any. They are heavy, and the pins are LITERALLY the heaviest in the entire book! I'm betting you won't find a new set anywhere.
IF I had a set in hand, I would probably use them, but I wouldn't search them out. I would try icon for reasonable price forged, or Ross or others.
This info is from a 1989 TRW catalog, got more info if you need it .

TRW made both 11.0 to 1 and 12.5 to 1 pop-ups for the 383. Sometimes they were marketed by other brand names such as Mopar Perf and Manley too. How to find any tho??? but maybe some out there..... I'll hunt for some numbers....

Wallace calculators says the 2293 with 88cc heads (906s), 041 x 4.35 gasket, and a blueprint deck of .017, would be 10.99 to 1. Lots of adjustments possible to that spec possible.
That same 2293 Trw, with a zero deck, 027 cometic hg, and a 75cc aftermarket head is almost 14 1/2 to 1.

You are correct, looking at the specs and not the "Press" fit. Like others have said too; Icon, Ross, JE, etc..

Icon IC 687, 4032 alloy forged, floating pins, 10.7-1 with 75cc heads (picture on icons site shows tiny little dome, don't know if that's true), around $550 USD at summit, ships from icon, .030,.040, .060 available. Would be my choice.

I can't seem to find any icon pistons under that number on the summit app in Canada there's only sealed power regular and Ross stroker pistons for forged. I can find them on the uem site thought

You are right, my mistake, all I could find were kb flattops under that number at summit. And icon site says call for availability. I would give them a call. Those icons are more than 200gr lighter than the trw, even if you could find them
383 forged are HARD to find! (unless you're looking for stroker pistons!)
Uem site shows 492/118 for weight. If that is piston/pin, that is more than 400grams less than the TRWs. That's HUGE! Much more likely to stay in one piece at high rpm.

Yeah it's almost impossible to find good compression pistons for 383 those icons I found on uem say they have dealers in Ontario so I should be able to call them about it tha k's for the help.

Where do you plan to get your fuel from? I'm at 10.5:1 and using Petro 94. I hear anything above that needs higher octane.

Well when I wanted 11-12:1 I was gonna get race fuel at least 114 octane it's for a drag car.

I'm curious, and a long ways away. Is E85 available near you in Ontario? Lots cheaper than race gas, but may be VERY hard-to-start in cold weather. I'm guessing, N/A.

I've never seen a pump for it, from what I gathered reading, a place 2 hours from me used to have a pump but it closed. I don't think it's any easier than a jug of race fuel to get, I don't know if other provinces have it either.

Compression on a 383 is a tough deal. Diamond makes a 51900 flat top, but even with milling to zero deck would fall slightly short of 10:1 with the Stealth (80 cc?) heads.
