$500- 68 charger

I argued with myself a long time whether to get these or not and finally decided to get them. They're just so dang expensive. I got the cheapest ones (natural finish) $580, arg... I'm waiting on them now to mount the new hood, make sure it fits, take it back off, paint it- probably satin, and reinstall.

I have always planned to get hinges like that I just haven’t wanted to spend the money on them yet. Let me know how you like them. I still plan on getting some eventually.

I got the hinges today and now I have another problem. They are very nice quality, a little heavier than I thought they'd be. But as I said I got the cheapest ones which their catalog says are a machine finish. What I got is not a machine finish, to me, it's a bead blasted finish which makes them look like dull cast aluminum. Not happy! Don't want to spend another penny on these overpriced things..

I just went through 116 pages and am amazed by your work!
Thanks, I'm amazed you went thru 116 pages! Wow.. I learned a lot from guys on this site and elsewhere on the net. This car was my 1st and most likely the last I'll ever rebuild, to the extent it ended going to anyway. I've been wanting to make a Dayclona but doubt I will. If I did it might look like this.

Got the hood on with the new hinges. Fits nice after a lot of adjusting and a couple of shims.
The hinges' gas cylinders come in several strengths, some for steel hoods or weaker ones for glass hoods, and I think I may have got ones for a steel hood. It takes too much pressure to close it. The packing list says for glass hood, but I think they may have been mislabeled. I'll call them tomorrow, they say they'll swap them if need be.

Eddie Motorsports is who makes the hinges. I called them today and they said no problem switching out the struts for softer ones, I just have to pay for sending them the stiff ones.... A lot of things I've done on this car was a roll of the dice, here's another. The air cleaner acorn nut is 1/2" from the top inside the scoop., lol.... Now where to put the pit pins?.. Maybe where they were put on the A-12 cars and such.

Installed the hood pins. Kinda hard drilling holes in a perfect hood. I'll put the plate screws in after paint. I'm thinking about painting the hood myself, save some money, satin finish. My painter would probably charge me $500 to do it gloss.

Seven years ago tonight I started this thread and I think every new years eve I've probably mentioned hoping to finish the car before the next year went by. But this new years I can finally break that tradition.. hehe! Ready for some fun with it in 2020!!....
When I shaved the mirror mount spot off the door and knew I'd regret it but I always said I would try one of these. It works ok and is easily removable.
HAPPY NEW YEAR MOPAR BROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is an AAR Stinger with sixpack scoop. Fit is excellent and finish is great but obviously I'll paint black soon.

Could someone with a 68 charger show me the correct rear license plate light/bracket? I wasted $40 on this one which doesn't fit.

Believe it's the same as any B body, with the addition of the shield for the Charger. I know this is correct for '69.. not positive for '68.
