I realize where these exhaust tip hangers are mounted on frame. But, how do you anchor the bolt in the frame hole ?
Is there a certain type of speed nut that attaches to frame to allow you to anchor the bolt ?

My Coronet frames has the nut welded into the frame rails on both sides even for a single exhaust 318... I just bolted the dual to it.

So yours are welded to side of frames, not under frame ? The B Body original hangers are designed to bolt underneath, not on the sides ? My frame only has holes underneath ?

Wait a tick they may have the nut clips like the front fenders do..... let me go out in the garage..... they bolt to the bottom of the frame rails and they look flush... I would need to dig out some photos to remember...... I thought it was clear but I may be confusing it with the Duster... It sure looks like nuts welded into the frame..

You’re a good man, Jim. Thank you. No big hurry, when ever you feel like it. Post a pic if you could please. Yeah, I know the A body hangers bolt on side of frame. I’m interested in seeing what the piece looks like, that the bolt threads into.
I’m not sure, what other options I have.
I was thinking of maybe using those anchor nuts for drywall. I think they’re called toggle nuts. They spread open when you push them through a hole. But, those aren’t typically very strong.

I have great photos of everything but what you need...... This is the best.. You can see the captured nut, sort of. It is clear it is not a clip-nut...

This is what came with my TTI exhaust system. I see they have nuts but I don't remember how they get installed.

Yeah, ok. That appears to be what I thought. It looks like a speed nut that is clipped on to the side of your frame.
B bodies might be the same from underneath the frame. When I was under there last, over the summer. I noticed a washer and maybe a nut inside the frame around the general mounting area. They were just laying loose inside the frame.
I’m all ears on options I have. I want to avoid tack welding a nut on, if I can. Gas tank, rusty frame, etc.

There is a build thread where he just installed his TTI exhaust and bought the hangers you show from DCS. https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/69-super-bee-rebuild-my-way.169418/page-18

There are nuts welded inside the frame rails to attach the bracket bolts. The hangers you have and got from TTI are only correct for 68-70 Chargers. I even called TTI and they confirmed my assumption. You can get the correct ones from Mega Parts if you are working on any other 68-70 B body that isn't a Charger.

Standard turn down pipe hanger shown with clip nut attachment. Chrome extension tip hanger welded nut in frame shown aft of it. As Joel points out, those hangers you show are incorrect for a Coronet.

Thank you, mine must have rusted off. I’m guessing they may be inside the frame somewhere. I found something that should work. They are called, draw bolts. Yeah, I found the correct Coronet style hangers.

Thanks, Dad. That’s the best pic I’ve seen. The picture I posted was for reference only. So, the Coronet hangers do in fact mount from the sides of the frame ?

If the factory welded nuts have rusted away, you can always drill a bigger hole and use a 3/8x16 rivnut ....

If there's another hole in the frame rail near to where the hanger Is going you may be able to use a normal nut and hold it with your finger through the other hole until it tightens against the frame. I've done that in the past on my Barracuda.

Yeah, I’ve done the same. If it’s possible, you would have to use a washer and a nut inside the frame. The holes are too small to get anything inside them, let alone hold a nut and washer inside the frame, where you need it. Strong magnets work well to hold things in place in these circumstances, until you can start threading a bolt. But, it’s not easy. Problem is all frame holes are way too small to get anything inside. Let alone, hold them where you need them. I think the draw bolt I pictured above will work. Unless, I can find a better substitute. All speed nuts, I’ve found. Don’t center over the hole, after you attach it to frame.

My roadrunner did not have the correct hangers when I got it but I bought them and the nuts were in the frame from the factory all I had to do was chase them down with a tap and installed the hangers.
