I have had to blow the horn coming up my driveway before. They sleep behind the barn, in both the front and back yard. We don't feed them or provide salt blocks. They never seem to know when one goes missing. My freezer is full. Those are all does, but the last one in the freezer was a nice 8 point. Don't tell my wife that Bambi is in the freezer, if she knew my spaghetti sauce and chili was made from Deer burger she would quit eating anything I fix. :)

Here’s a young buck in my front yard last summer the does are here all the time

I guess they're rooting for the acorns here. Also the squirrels like the hickory nuts too.
Yeah, they love oak acorns. They'll eat the red oak ones, but I think they highly prefer the white oak acorns from what I've experienced hunting deer in the past.

I haven't hunted since I was in my 20's. I do step out back with a bow when the freezer needs restocking. I can't use a gun here in the neighborhood as that will summon the police. One neighbor in particular doesn't like me because his driveway is my starting point for test launches. The only house from his driveway to the end of the street is mine. I can make 3 launches and put the car in the barn and leave before the police come looking around. I know them all anyway and they can spend a hour shooting the bull if I don't leave. He even called them once and I never left the barn, I was just tuning with open headers.

Heck, I get yelled at when shooting a Daisy BB gun at the squirrels on the bird feeder! The BIG stuff has to go to the range, bigger than .177" anyway.

That's really kool. We have the same thing here and never know whats going to show up. I don't hunt any longer but we try to support the local wildlife and they are thankful.

Question Jerry.
Where I grew up, a 4 pointer whitetail was 4 points each side,. How does that compare to how your area counts tines?
Our Good Federal Liberal Government has decreed that if you want to purchase a 177 caliber air rifle that has a muzzle velocity over 495. You need a Federal Licence

4 points each side is 8 points around here. Rifles as in hunting rifles require no federal license in Alabama, rifles as in assault rifles require back ground checks and registration. All hand guns require back ground checks and permits to carry. We have open carry allowed, but a lot of places you go are posted no open carry. The catch is that if you have the hand guns in your car getting where you are going it is considered concealed carry and requires the permit. Now I'm confused. :)

I spent over 4500.00 last spring to keep them out of my wife's garden. Not a fan.
