Dash pad, what paint/dye to use?

No flex additive needed, you'll push your thumb through that old vinyl dash before you crack that thin coat of paint on it.

I am sure you are correct, a professional painter quoted me about 350.00 US to paint my dash after it was all stripped and ready for paint. The paint was about 120.00 US. I will go with that, but will use rattle cans for the plastic stuff.

Ya thats what i was thinking avour intially but i keep hearing people using laquer based vinyl "dyes" or paint and having great results. I think since its laquer with a flex additive it goes on really thin and the old grain shows through and the laquer kind of melts into the vinyl. Idk though

I've used the Sem white dye to match the interior on my Sea Ray with great results. Honestly , i didn't hold out much hope of it working well or lasting very long due to the fact that it was a high wear area and the color white but it held up all of last year. I don't have a problem using the rattle can stuff but getting turquoise seems to be the problem.
