In my 68 Charger it is quite tricky to install the rear seat back rest, the last 5cm I have to really push it down with my bodyweight to make it go down and snap in place.

Problem is that it easily pops back up again.

Anyone got pics how those small hooks on the wheel well should be shaped for it to work correctly?
...or am i missing some bolt/bracket that locks the back rest into place?

I'm not sure how different the clips are arranged between the years but my 66 looks different. They are not up and down like those appear to be. They appear to be sideways mounted and the protruding part is parallel with the door panel.

you bottom hooks are bent in. make them look like beepbeeps

Make sure the tabs are pointing towards the front of the car, after hooking the top part pass the tabs through the two bottom frame loops and bend over the tabs to secure.

Awesome, this explains a lot.
The tabs actually go -through- the frame loops and then bent to secure the seat.

Many thanks for that info. :thankyou:
