I have been posting some things I have run into to help other MOPAR members that may run into the same things. I get some disagreements on some of my posts. I find it strange. I posted that STOCK HP exhaust manifolds were designed to give max HP and many times are better then headers. The Disagree postings started. I mentioned STOCK engines not built. Also, I ask all the know everything members to think how many HEADERS were available in 1969, 1970 and must I continue? So I will not post any more things that I have run into. I do not have the knowledge as so many young people have.

dont let it get to you, iron sharpens iron. Stock means stock and yes we all get into it with members here. Some people here know their stuff and other well are full of BS. I dont know it all and never will but enjoy the knowledge there is on this site. I have been proven wrong more then once but all in all I want to believe it was to give me knowledge and not someone just being an asshole. And the butt hole probably doesnt even own a Mopar.

Hedman Hedders was the world's very first mass producer of exhaust headers. Founded way back in 1954 by, Bob Hedman

AND 'stock' is still stock; stock starts with an S; not MSD,header, etc. I think a lot of us have to spin their brain around before commenting sometimes! Might be dumb question to a lot, but not to the person asking; we all started at the beginning!

I only put up that information to say that over the counter aftermarket headers have been available for a long time. there have been many many stock manifold to header comparisons of which I will not comment on because I am a header guy. I wouldn't spend 5 or 600 hundred bucks on some hp manifolds unless I were restoring my car back to stock , which I'm not. my 200 dollar hedmans work just fine.

That IS strange! I've never experienced something so bizarre as someone disagreeing with me!

Of course I'm always right so that might have something to do with it.

I only find the "drive by" big red "X" strange. I like to know WHY, they disagree and continue the debate rather than getting butthurt about it

OP joins the forum and starts in with strong opinions, then gets pissy when his statements are challenged.
I was one to call him out on the headers VS manifolds discussion.
Yeah, the Magnum manifolds did flow better than the traditional log type manifolds that were used on the more mundane engines but they were never designed to get the most HP out of a stock engine as the OP stated. They were designed to make a little more power, be reliable and to last at the very least, through the warranty period.
Anyone with 3 working brain cells knows that an engine will breath better with a less restrictive exhaust system. Headers make power on all engines, stock or modified.
If the OP has a problem understanding that, to him I say:

Guess I am having some issues understanding what this is all about; is the OP pissed because someone argued that headers flowed better than manifolds that someone hated on stock manifolds, that someone would like something other than stock or all of the above?

If the argument is that stock manifolds (on HP engines) flowed as well or better than headers, well then I would say "put down the pipe". I am definitely not a "stock" guy, never have been never will be. I will walk past an entire row of restored, survivor, etc. cars to see something someone has built. I respect stock, restored, etc. cars and those who do the work but they are very boring to me, saw them when they were pretty much new and the first thing pretty much everyone did was drive from the dealer to the speed shop and put headers, mags, etc. on them to make them faster.

That’s people for you. You should know that. Agree to disagree.
I posted that STOCK HP exhaust manifolds were designed to give max HP and many times are better then headers.
This is incorrect. The reason being is the stock system is leaned out with the headers which has the car running better as well as helps introduce more air and fuel into the cylinder for more power. This has been extremely well documented over and over.
The Disagree postings started. I mentioned STOCK engines not built.
It doesn’t matter if the engine is a low performance or a high performance or built up with hot rod/race parts. Headers add power all around. Again, written about, videoed and dyno tester over and over again for decades.
Also, I ask all the know everything members to think how many HEADERS were available in 1969, 1970 and must I continue?
How many different header companies there were in ‘69 ‘70, etc.. is 100% irrelevant.

So I will not post any more things that I have run into. I do not have the knowledge as so many young people have.
This reads as sarcasm. What a shame! Perhaps it’s true as well. That is also irrelevant. (What you do and don’t know.) The thing is here, that you can learn from others that have been there and done that. If they have not been there or done that, there is usually a magazine article or a video or someone that races cars that can prove that headers are power makers over exhaust manifolds. The same goes with every other aspect of the car. We’re all here to help each other & to learn from each other.

Getting upset and having an Poor attitude all the batter only shows that you are stuck. You’re being close minded and arrogant.

The HP manifolds are what the factory did to improve the engines performance while keeping the ability to give the customer a long lasting quite but powerful product is what there about. Headers would probably not make the warranty period and therefore are obviously unsuitable for sale to the public. Not to mention the factory being responsible plus the cost of replacing the failed part.

To post what you did shows me you probably thought you had a awesome handle on what is but it shows that you don’t on many fronts.

That makes you normal like everyone else here except your upset about it. Welcome to the human race. Sit back and enjoy. Grab your pop corn and soda. The show never stops.

I'm in the same boat but may be a bit older. I remember that getting to the dealership to check out the new road runner was very important lol and was even more important than looking over the new for 67 GTX. After all, the GetX was a rich (or richer) mans car and the road runner was for most of the rest of us and this is after driving around in a 66 Belvedere sedan which was pretty close to the same shape as the GTX. I like the survivor and the restored cars but the modified ones that are done right catch my eye quicker. It's the personal touch that make me move and one of the first things I did to my Belvedere was replace the stock steering wheel. Next was messing with moon hubcaps lol. Hey, this was the 60's, right! Heck, the baby moons didn't look too shabby on black wheels and a yellow car.....and they were dirt cheap. A touch of gloss black rattle can paint took care of the scratches the original deluxe hubcaps left didn't hurt either. :D A year and a half later my first engine swap was completed. Bye bye to the worn out poly teen and hello to the very mild 383! I'm one of the members that Robert seems to have a problem with.....kin feel it real good like. Oh well

Sounds like you had a good time. Every time I look at any car I automatically think about what I can change/do to it.

The little red x is annoying but people are entitled to have opinions. This is a public forum and when you post stuff you have to be understanding that all people will not agree with you. The better thing to do is to just ignore the negative comments. I am sure no one here is intending on making fun or belittling you. Its just that people have opinions and they all have the belief that they are as right as you are. I wouldn't sweat it..
