Pappy Boyington wont be down for breakfast..

Loved his shows. RIP

One of my favorite shows and favorite actors. I loved to watch Black Sheep. The real Pappy Boyington was actually on the show a couple times in the first season!

Wild Wild West also very good..

It’s weird because I was just thinking about him the other day and these shows.

He will be missed, Rest In Peace!

He was a great actor and stuntman. Bob Conrad was also one of the best athletes in Battle of the Network Stars.

RIP

Good video about the Wild, Wild, West

I'm pretty sure most people here knew or know that the real Pappy died years ago. I'm also pretty confidant that other people here know that if I say Pappy Boyington died its virtually impossible for him to die twice. And they would relate it to Robert Conrad. So I don't think it was a necessity to use his real name as most people know the characters he played.

Actually Pappy did die twice. When he was shot down and captured by the Japanese, they never reported his capture, so he was listed as MIA. His plane was last seen going down over the ocean in flames. After 18 months it was presumed he was dead until after the Japanese surrendered, Boyington's fellow prisoners put a message on the roof of ne of the buildings in there prison camp "Pappy Boyington Here" which was spotted by one of our planes.

I actually hear him tell that story in an old episode of To Tell The Truth. So I guess technically he did die 2 times.

RIP Robert

I actually worked for him in my youth
on the Ski Patrol & C group beginners ski school
he was a majority owner in Mt. Reba Ski Resort
at one time

he was a different type of character
was not the friendliest guy
(had the short guy/tough guy chip on his shoulders mentality)
but seemed to be honest
you didn't wonder what he thought about you
you knew upfront, right away, if he liked you or not
