Need some help to go to a 4 speed

It took me about a year and a half to find and buy the parts for my 4 speed conversion in my 70 RR. Cost me almost $3000 and that was with an A833 that needed to be rebuilt so I traded it in as a core and bought a rebuilt, date correct A833 from Passon. I don't think there's any way you can do a swap with good parts for $2000, even doing all the labor yourself, including the welding for the 4 speed hump and the torque rod (z bar) bracket.
But was it worth it? to me a stick shift car will just be a lot more enjoyable to drive previously owning a stick-shift sports car moving onto an automatic with this car as the weekend car, I really want to swap it over.

Do this to align bellhousing, it's not hard but necessary .

I had 2350 in parts in my swap plus about 40 hrs labor to throw new seals and bearings in the unit, weld new hump, fabricate the hydraulic clutch set up and install the gearbox.

110% it was worth it. The 4 speed made it a totally different car, so much more fun to bang gears !!!!!

If you want to row your own and can live with a 3 speed I could make you a heck of a deal on a trans, shifter, bell, flywheel, clutch, pp, throw out, maybe a z bar. You would still need a other things to complete the swap

What 3 speed exactly? maybe i can consider it.

It is a factory 3 speed out of a 67 Satellite. I bought it as a package deal before knowing a tremendous amount on 3 speed vs 4 speed interchangeability. It came with everything except the trans crossmember (I think....if may have came with that too), the frame weldment (I might have a spare...I would have to look) and it has no pedals.

The guy I bought it off of was converting from a 318 3 speed to a 440 auto and gave me everything that could be unbolted from the car. The shifter is an aftermarket floor shifter by Indy. His car was originally a 3 on the tree and I know he did not add a floor hump to install the shifter. I believe the clutch and PP are nearly new as well as the shifter.

There's not a lot of interchangeability with 3 speed to 4 speed that I can see. Like the others, I pieced my 4 speed setup together...took my time....rebuilt a lot of stuff myself, and am still into it for slightly north of $2000. The shifter and the clutch alone set me back around $1100. I could have cut that by about $300 if I didn't insist on a pistol grip shifter handle and the proper mechanism.

PM me if interested and I can make you a heck of a deal on a starter kit.
