I was researching the history of the St.Louis plant, because my April 68 Charger was built there, and found a picture of the first one off the line. It appears to even be a burgundy car, like mine, but I’m interested in the wheels. They don’t look like the wheels listed as available for ‘68. Are they from another model?

These are 67 hubcaps but sure do look like whats on that car..... I think some were used into 68 as well.

Interesting! I guess the plant had not received the ‘68 covers yet since it had just started building the Charger. Is that cover available in 15”? I like it!

I believe the only cover available for the 15" wheel in that year and many others was the dog dish cap that covered the center. Also the disc brake style which was rare as it was only found on cars with 15" wheels with disc brakes which was code 581 on your picture. Most wheel covers were all 14" in that era.

Figures :(
Oh well, black steels with no covers looks good too! Thanks!

I believe that in 68 and 69, the only 15" full wheel covers available on a b-body were Hemi only. Seriously large money now. Read the fine print on that code 581 cover.

Are you sure that car isn't black and maybe the Bullitt chase scene car. It had those hubcaps.........7 total I believe came off the car

The Bullitt Charger had the 584 code covers. I have a set of those, and I like them, but they only fit 14” wheels. I’ll probably go without covers on my 15” wheels, since my wife says the dog dish caps look ‘grandpa’.

Tell her dog dish are old school cool. I like them on a Mopar.
