-is this the amount the flap is open when not using the airgrabber?
When activating the air grabber, this flap closes and the only air going in is through the hood
opening right?
 
we've been continuing the work..floor is out, fenders off and sandblasted whats left.

I removed the door jam decal with the vin number and date of manufacture and
there it is; the VOID message underneath.

I've got the dash apart and I'm sending the clock/tach out to be refurbished.
I didn't realize when changing to electronic ignition, the clock/tach has to be reworked.

Nice. I’m amazed at how many ‘70 rags remain. I thought my car was an early build with a vin of 109620. It was built August 22/69. It’s a 440 6bbl car. Good luck with your build. Here’s where I’m at with mine. Tons of AMD stuff coming.

I've got 2 complete rear quarters from AMD but after sandblasting, we're thinking the drivers side 1/4 is good enough that we won't replace. -just a little rust on the bottom.
AMD trunk floor and main floor and rear trunk 'valance?' piece all arrived.
Doctor dodge--do you have an approx. completion date?
 
Here's another '70 Convertible being finished at the shop doing mine. 383 4 speed car.
I would imagine there are still a few hundred roadrunner rags out there.
It would be nice to have a registry for them.

My rear seat side panels had round speaker holes crudely cut out 40 years ago below the arm rest.
The panels themselves were beat up pretty good with wear marks as well and a rusty ashtray.
I cleaned and painted the panels, ordered new inserts from Legendary, and found at Michaels craft store a sheet of black 'vinyl' they sell (3$) with a removable backing already with a sticky surface. I was able to mold it over the shape of the panel and then I sprayed one coat of trim paint. It's not Pebble Beach concours level but it looks a lot better than a gaping speaker hole.

I’ve owned it since ‘78. Had a fire with it in ‘85. It’s been apart in the garage ever since. My goal was to have it ready for MCACN this November but I kinda doubt that is achievable. Here’s a pic from a few months before I bought it. Brilliant yellow metalflake, flares, spoilers, rabbit fur. How ‘70’s.
 
Awesome car, I’m liking this restoration thread. I would very much welcome a registry for convertible 70 RR, we have been looking for my Dads car for a long time now. Might never get it back, but it would be nice to know it survived. 6bbl Super TrakPak car, can’t be many left!

Copycat !!!!! LOL. Mine's a 70 Satellite. I've owned 3. The first was a 318, 3 on the tree, that I drove through 4 years of college. The second was a 318 automatic, all matching numbers. This is my current ride. Not the original color, the previous owner had it repainted. I'm a little partial to these, ya think? Nice job on your restoration. Congrats.

A guy helping with the restoration has done almost a hundred mopars and says he believes these clips are factory installed. I'm leaning towards leaving the clips and putting the trim pieces back on after paint and just put up with mopar experts saying the trim is not original. Has anyone seen these on a Road runner before? It's not a huge deal, but I don't know if I should add it back on or not.

When the previous owner repainted my 70 Satty droptop he removed all the side molding, wheel well trim and rear trunk molding to give it the RR look.
He replaced the tail lights with body color ones and welded up all the trim clip holes on the body EXCEPT for the rear trunk molding. I guess he had thought of replacing it but he never did and now I have holes on the rear tail light panel where the clips go. I was thinking of finding the chrome trim and installing it but not sure how it would look as the only chrome trim on the car besides the front grill trim. Your car is giving me the idea though. My alternate temporary solution is getting 1/8" plastic plugs, spray painting them B5, and plugging the holes, for now. If you decide not to reinstall your trim and want to sell it, I would be interested.

Ok thanks, I only asked because I’m looking at getting my floor pans replaced and like to have a general idea of what it takes time-wise.

I checked some numbers here in Scandinavia; 2 in Finland, 11 in Sweden. Rare bird!
 
I understand there were 4 export six barrel cars. I believe two came to Canada. 1 to the Netherlands and one to Brazil.
 
The restoration has been delayed a little with the covid virus.
The car (seen below) will hopefully go to the body shop in a week or 2.
Floor pans are all installed as are the frame rails.
While waiting for the body work and paint, the engine is completed, new K member assembled,
transmission done, rear end done, dash is done.
The wiper motor was sent to quebec and the tach/clock sent out.
The bumpers are out getting re-chromed, so now we just wait....

I'll post pictures from the body shop as they progress.
