Gas Prices in SoCal today.

Damn, it's almost up to the cost of bottled water, never thought I would have seen that.
~$2.99 for premium here in CO.

I would like an opinion: do these guys WANT you to pay cash, or use a credit card?

Wow.. 12 % to use a card. Thought I was bad getting hosed as a business for 6.5% if I take a customers credit card. Can't see a Shell being hit for more than 4% so they're making 8% more if you use plastic.

I've been running 89 mid grade in my 2007 Ram since I crossed 150,000 miles. I was thinking that with the miles and carbon buildup, I should step up the octane from the 87 I ran since it was new.
I recently took an 850 mile round trip to Southern CA and back but used 87 octane just to see what effect it would have. I noticed no loss of power and I got 18.2 mpg on the freeway coming down. It used to be that the price increase from 87 to 89 then to 91 was about a nickle or 10 cents. Now it is about 20 cents of a jump from 87 to 89 octane. I think I'll stick with 87 until I see the need for more octane.

Gruesome Newsom was on and said California is working on it. He forgot to mention that the 12 cent per gallon tax HE JUST PUT ON is coming soon.

I will say that I have a Shell cash back card that lowered the price by a dime.
