I started work with a different Construction company December 6th. Prior to that, I was with the same company for the most part for over 30 years.
This new company....Several of the guys use the brother reference, a LOT.
Can I use the Sawzall?

I have been stung enough times to know about being stung. BTW I am not letting go of the topic in the way I respond. I am not here to trash responders as many times may happen. I am playing with the topic as I am moved to because of my nature. I laugh at myself before I post stuff.--(at least I try).

Know when to wink first. --If that wink is taken as a confrontation the story changes.
In all my years of dealing with people, the greatest hurdle is how to do that.
In a work situation, the job is key and basically simple. Pulling it off with conflicting personalities has been my greatest task as a supervisor for 30 plus years.

Well, the Carpenters Union is often referred to as the Union Brotherhood and in their newsletters, bylaws and other associated literature, they refer to fellow members as Union Brothers and Sisters.
To me, it feels like hanging out with dudes from the Sons of Anarchy.
 
I read a post from a guy that said his buddy was "Whipping shitties" in his car.
Whipping shitties??? WTF ??
Again, since I read and think of things so literally, why would anyone assault feces?
Apparently, this strange sounding phrase refers to what others call "Do-nuts" or spinning the rear tires while spinning the car in circles.
 
We used that term regularly back in MN. Some guys did that a lot in the snowy parking lots. Don’t think I ever actually whipped any but used the term for those that did. Would still call them that..... lol

Spinning do-nuts makes sense to me because do-nuts are often round and the car goes in a circle.

Okay, the term "whipping" I can see. Whipping the wheel back and forth makes sense but why call it a shitty ??
 
I really don’t know..... Maybe because you **** your pants when you do,them. We also said “whip a **** hook” as a term for doing a quick u- turn. Go figure. I don’t know where this stuff comes from. Just grew up with it.....
 
"Pulling gear" comes to mind. In ref. To fast shifting a manual trans. Doing that in our old school cars did require pulling force to do it fast.
 
Went to a funeral of a young mother of two, who died in a freak car accident. My friend ( her husband) was following her in his other car, and saw her get thrown from the pickup and it rolled over her. He was very distraught at the funeral . I go to him and say " Scott, how are you doing?" I felt terrible for saying something that thoughtless............MO
