When Is Your First Day To Mow The Lawn?

I let the lawn seed itself last fall and do not plan on mowing till late next month.

Mine was getting over 4 inches in some areas. Looks like barnyard grass or something. Showed up about 2 years ago and gets worse every year.

Actually we are slated for an early spring this year...had snow in April last year..

The bermuda in the front yard is still dormant. I scalped it back so the sun can do it's magic in a few months. I'm putting down pre-emergent on it in the next day or two; then it will be green until the dye fades away.

Have mowed twice this year already......and finally got my reverse clutch fixed on the old Gravely I hope.

Usually mid to late April.

Checked mine yesterday, and think I'm good for at least another week.

Weeds, OTOH seem to have done very well for themselves over the "winter".

Spent an hour pulling, and barely made a dent.
Living in Ormond Beach grass cutting never stops.

Uncovered the John Deere yesterday and drove it around the property to remind it of it's duty. It responded by awarding me with a flat front tire. I guess it's not yet ready to get to cutting...lol. Supposed to snow Thursday sooo…… not quite yet.

Already cut it once...Cut number two probably before the end of the week now that everything is starting to green up...

My front is still dormant for the most part, backyard fared a bit better over the winter but not close to cutting either yet.

My yard all Kentucky blue grass and looks great, it really came alive the last week and I will mow today for the first time.

My grass and pasture grass IS growing, greening up in the warm rain today. The livestock have been actually grazing for a few days now. They are still eating the hay too, so this is just them getting at the tender sweet new grass...I still have about 30 bales of hay in the loft too. So it's all good.

I just checked the drive belt, sparky thingy, changed oil and air filter and fixin to sharpen the blade as soon as I drink this cheap bier. Then I'll be mowin.
