Anybody know if PY4 yellow Jacket paint is the same as Y-1 Lemon twist?
Or if not does anybody have a recommendation for a supplier for Y1?
It seems that all the websites on line for paint only sell Y-1 premixed, (ready to spray) and its very expensive plus it doesn't go very far.
Much rather by a gl, activator and reducer etc and be able to paint the entire car
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Eric

My body and paint guy was able to match the Lemon Twist on the primered N96 AMD hood I bought.
I don't know the combo he used though.

Get a body shop to mix it for you or a body shop supply
We have two stores that can mix and dozens of body shops

I would highly doubt the old formula is the same as the new formula.

I did a B5 car with the modern paint mix and it was bright blue, other than that it wasn’t close. Also, the new colors aren’t necessarily new, B5 was called Surf blue the year before and just renamed for the new impact colors around 2010.

I was told by a few people that the best match they found for factory Y-1 was the book formula from Sherwin williams ---- not sure if they were correct but heard it from several places

Thanks for that, I was doing some research on the sherwin williams Y-1 Lemon twist and have decided to give it a try, will report back after I do a few tests, I still have some good area's on my car with clean original color so I will have a good comparison
Cheers

Dandelion was a color used to mix to match my Lemon Twist.
May not help, not sure what brand, but I remember it was the name of the primary color used.

FY1 is kind of a bitch to get right.

I had spots of the original paint on my Bee.

I saw a LOT of restored FY1 cars at shows that were not right.

Usually too bright, too "tennis-ball", or not creamy enough.

not creamy enough
That's where the dandelion paint comes in. It adds "creaminess".
I really like yellow that pops, but NO GREEN in it, at all, and no school bus yellow either, because that's too dark.
OTOH, Lemon Twist is not pastel either.
My 71 Charger R/T was factory original yellow, if anyone knows what color that would have been. It seemed to be a little softer than the yellow on my Roadrunner, but close.

This car is @Dennis H 's car:
