American Autowire kit... what else is needed?

Looking to place an order soon for a American Autowire kit through p-s-t.

What else would you guys recommend I pick up? Other than a decent wire splitter/crimper and volt meter, I have nothing on hand to dive into this. Links?

Get a T&B or Klien crimper, stay away from those that strip wire , cut screws ect.
ive become partial to the butt splices that have a heat shrink insulator.
if you plan on resusing your existing connectors you will need a pin removal tool and the correct uninsulated pins/spade s ( male & female).
the best connection is to solder using rosin core solder. Use heatshrink to insulate, dont use electrical tape.
I used to use tye wraps to secure the wire bundles under the dash but now use velcro wraps. It makes tracing wires alot easier...you will be tracing lol!
Pretty easy job, most of the universal wiring kits are geared more towards GM products but you can easily make them more Mopar oriented, I would recommend buying a FSM or downloading the electrical.schematics...

Depending on how you want the harness to look / be wrapped. I don't like how stiff the harness becomes if wrapped with electrical tape. I try to use the PET expandable braided sleeving with adhesive heat shrink tubing. I like the 3M 3:1 heat shrink, but it is expensive. The braided sleeving is light and flexible for long un-interrupted runs. Under the dash, the velcro enclosed split sleeving is easier to apply and service, but the velcro makes the sleeving a bit stiffer.

If adding to or modifying the wiring, some tools you should have are good diagonal cutters (you want a clean cut of the wire), Good quality crimpers with the correct dies for the type of terminals being crimped. Heat gun for shrinking heat shrink tube, if splicing/soldering wires a soldering iron of at least 45 Watts or more and 60/40 (tin/lead) rosin core solder with a diameter of about 1-1.5mm (0.040"-0.062")
Electrical tape and zip ties.
