Whats everyone working on?

I need to do that to mine

My 52 is more of a Rat Rod than Hot Rod, but it does have a 56 Desoto 330 Hemi in it... 8 3/4 out of a Challenger, 727 out of my Cuda, 88 Dakota front clip and lacquer matte black paint... Was/is my shop truck although I don't drive it nearly as much as I should. Put EFI on it a couple of years ago.

Wow, awesome job on your 52 & that Hemi is the perfect motor! I regret selling my 64 Sport Fury & 64 Belvedere, but at least I'm almost finished with my frame off 68 D100 (have its orig 383 2bbl in storage) & just broke in the 70 383 we built our of the Challenger R/T I used to have. Also we're about ready to break in the new 383 we built for my 71 W100, too. Maybe I'll get em sold so I can get another 64 Sport Fury...

Welp,,got bad news from Scott at Harms Auto. My carb, that took me almost two yrs to find,, has a crack in it, that can't be repaired. Juuust a little bummed out.

Thanks, you have some awesome trucks there as well. The 52 was a fluke for me to be honest. I was watching American Restoration and the owner Rick has a 40 something Ford PU hotrod that I am sure someone built for him. I thought, "damn I need a Mopar shop truck" so off to craigslist I went and found the 52 which was completely torn apart but the original flat 6 and trans were still in the frame and could be started and moved. Anyway, I got it for basically nothing (traded something I had zero money in) and drug it home. Took me 3 weeks to have it running and driving but then discovered that 45 mph was top speed so that wouldn't do. A guy I know found a 56 Desoto that a guy wanted $500 for w/o a title. The guy I knew wanted the trim to sell and I wanted the engine. Anyway, after a fair amount of work I got the 330 rebuilt an running, then got a 88 Dak off CL and chopped the front end off and grafted it on to the 52. I had to set the firewall back about 12", make engine mounts etc. I put a 8 3/4 out of a Challenger (all chrome...), used the old leaf springs out of the Cuda and painted it with some left over black lacquer. I eventually put a fitech EFI system on it because I don't drive it much and the brand new Holley crapped the bed after the first winter of sitting.

As you can see, I could on and on about it, but suffice to say it was a fun build, no rules just garage engineering. It has a manual R&P system in it which can be a little stiff when not moving and especially if the tires are not pumped up completely (has the stock 16" wheels on it where were stupid rusty, so the ones that don't have tubes slowly leak). Still a lot I could do to it but I have other projects.

You did a great job on the 52 as it looks a patina stock uteline, but has the cool upgrades & that Hemi sure makes it a show piece. The stock interiors are cool, too with lots of character that makes them so unique. The more you end up doing to that 52, you gotta be sue to post pics.

Oh I have lots of pictures of it, most are build pictures. I agree that the interiors of old trucks are pretty cool. Mine had the optional heater which has a super cool Mopar cover plate. I used the seat out of the Dak and put a generic Indian blanket cover over it. I used as much of the Dakota as possible to include the seat belts, master cylinder (manual), etc.

I need to do that to mine
You will be glad you did! This is the wood that came out. I also plan to cut a piece of plywood to go over the top of this finished wood if I actually plan to haul anything.
