Prayers for Ryan Newman

Thank God

In the video watching the impact at the drivers side and then the flex and movement of everything at the passenger 1/4 panel there was a ton of impact at the hit...
With all the X bracing and triangles designed into these cars it would take a lot of force to create that much damage..

Non life threatening injuries is good news considering what he went through...

Prayers for Ryan Newman, a terrible crash. Just heard he is in stable condition on Fox News. Although I don't watch much Nascar anymore, no one can say that those guys don't have balls of steel to drive those tracks at 200 plus mph. If you go around the track at Talladega on the bottom and look up in the turns, it looks like you're looking straight up the side of a 10 story building. Also I have driven on Talladega at speeds of 150-160 in my 96 Viper and coming out of turn 4 at those speeds going into the tri-oval gets real tricky as the car gets really loose and starts drifting up towards the wall. It really didn't help any with the instructor yelling stand in it when actually what you wanted to do was just the opposite.

That was a hard hit.
I barely remember the Dale Earnhardt crash but it seems that it wasn't that hard of an impact, far less than this one.
Glad to learn that RN should be okay.

DE wasn't wearing a HANS restraint/harness and he never wore a full face helment. The HANS restraint was fairly new or wasn't invented yet, I don't remember.

HANS was around at that time but DE was stubborn and refused to use it. He also insisted on the open face helmet. Mandatory HANS has saved many lives. SAFER barriers have also done a fantastic job on impact absorption.
Both likely would have kept the 3 from serious injury.

Can't believe it's been that long since he passed.

Dales belts were also improperly installed.
I knew it was bad when Schrader looked in and quickly turned around and gestured for help.

When will na$car do away with that aero package?

Blaney wrecked him for sure, just to get past
Newman was blocking, can't blame him either

sad it comes down to that

todays checkers or wreckers mentality

if not for the Hanns device & the seats or other safety equipment
cages etc., that they use today, it could have been much, much worse

comes with the territory

here's to a full & speedy recovery to Ryan Newman

great news
great to hear he was released from the hospital too

Saw him on the news today. Walked out of the hospital with his 2 kids. Unbelievable! God was watching over him to be sure
