I am looking at the Firestone Wide Oval Radials and am wondering about their tendencies to wander. They are Radials with Bias Ply tread patterns. I have an OEM car that is a handful to drive because of the Bias Ply tires. My Retro-Mod car has BF Goodrich's on it and is a dream to drive but I want the production look. Does anyone run the new Radial/Bias Ply tires?

Don’t think there is such a thing as a Radial/Bias tire, but BFG makes a red line called silver town, and I think Diamond back is another maker of redlines that uses a BFG or Michelin mold..

I have a set of Coker Firestone ‘bias look’ radials on my 67. Drives nice, I haven’t drive a lot on bias ply tires but the car drives like it did when I had BFG Radial TAs on it.

I had those on my Sport Fury GT. They were a decent balance between looks and performance and about what you would expect, doing neither perfectly, but well enough that I would buy them again.

They would look good on my car but at $300 each it is not a mistake I want to make as far as drivability. It rides so great right now but those Wide Oval RWL Firestones would make the car.

I have them on my 67 GTX. They are great drive like a radial. I had bias plys on before that and the difference is night and day. I hate the aggressive tread on the BFG red lines and T/As the look like truck tires. plus the radials that look like bia plys really aren't much more then correct look radial tires.

Thank you everyone! I wasn't sure if tread design or tire design caused the tracking issues.

I agree BFG red lines and T/As the look like truck tires or winter tires...
